    Shift Kits

alright. i've been lookin around at different venders and haven't come up with anything. I was looking for a shift kit, i have one on my truck and love it. Does anyone have any speculations on if anyone is even thinking about making a shift kit for these cars? I have a transgo in my truck at the moment and i was thinking about it while reading a thread about the hesitation in the 1-2 shifts and auto shifting in autostick, and all the other problems or accurances (sp). The Transgo that i put in my truck gives the driver FULL control of the transmission without any computer intervention. You want auto, leave it in D and it will shift the same as stock (firmer of course due to shift kit) BUT when you want auto stick... it gives you the POWA. In the truck, if i want to put it into 1st at 105mph ... that baby is going into first with just a downshift of the selector, regardless of repercussions. Want to start off from a light in 3rd gear. Put it in third and when the lights green, WOT and it's taking off at the speed of digestion! What i'm gettin to i guess is that if Transgo, or other companys, came out with a similiar kit. Wouldn't it fix the 'Delay' you guys are experiencing from autosticking it (having to shift early as to not hit rev limiter)

Just thoughts .. like to get some input on this.

(thinking in head, if a shift kit in a 7K pound truck will chirp 2nd gear with a 33" tire... the possibilities of spinning a 20" wheel/tire on a car!! )

I'm pretty sure the hesitation is an electrical problem not mechanical. So I don't think you can fix it mechanically.
I doubt any one will be making any shift kits for these trans.

A shift kit for an LX will closely resemble a laptop..... very closely

    Perhaps a Morpheus laptop even

The closest thing we have to a "shift kit" for our cars is the Superchips Flashpaq Tuner and it's transmission Torque Management Reduction. It will greatly reduce the torque management between the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts and make the tranny shift harder.

very true, but that is only when there is a pretty good load on throttle does it shift any different, correct me if i'm wrong! On the truck with the shift kit, 100% TM removed and raised line pressure via custom tune, the shift is rediculous (in a good way) I had the tune with the TM removed and the raised line pressure and it shifted crisp and clean, but, when tooling around town it shifted no different, under light load. When the shift kit was put in, 1-2 shift at say 20mph on light load is a quick/hard shift that you can feel in the floorboard.

I don't think you could create a shift kit for these cars without including the entire computer system. The systems are so woven together..

But soon that will change go MF!!! and Morpheus
