Well the concept is simple. A RGB LED that goes to red based on an rpm pickup.
I dunno if it would even be that complicated. Since you've already got a white LED, all you have to do is put a red LED next to it under the needle, then have it go from white to red using a variable resistance circuit that tracks needle position.
Yeah that sounds a lot more complicated doesn't it.
