    RT suspension VS SRT suspension

What's the difference in suspension on an RT and SRT...Mainly for a Magnum... But I guess Charger and 300 and Chally as well. Does the SRT Mag come with self leveling shocks, and does it sit lower than the RT and if so...by how much? Would switching from RT to SRT suspension be worth it, is it that much of a diff....or is the aftermarket route better.... Thanks Guys

The SRT suspension sits about a half inch lower. The sway bars are a little larger in diameter as well. This leads to less body roll and a more controled ride. If you can pick up one reasonably it's a great option. Pre 2009 models have the Nivomat self leveling rear shocks.

    "Road & Track suspension"

While we're on the subject, when I was car shopping I saw some R/T (Magnums) equipped with a "Road & Track suspension" as an additional option. Is this basically SRT suspension on a 5.7 car?

I believe the R&T package was the same as the Daytona, which added the Nivomats onthe rear. The ride height and sway bars are the same as a standard RT.

The R/T Road and Track Package is what the Daytonas have..........it consists of the Nivomat rear load leveling shocks, thicker sway bars, and stiffer front struts, and stiffer springs all around.

When I swapped in a Daytona R/T Suspension in my SXT, measured the sway bars and compared the springs.......there is a difference.........The standard R/T suspension is not the same as the R/T Road & Track Option........

Picking up a used SRT8 suspension is a cheap way to get better handling, slightly lower stance (roughly 1" lower) at a bargain price..........I have seen complete (Shocks/Struts/Sway Bars) SRT8 suspensions in the parts Forum for 400.00 or less..........

ditto to all that was stated above. I have the an R/T (not road and track) with a 300 SRT set up on it. It sits lower (maybe 3/4" -1") but I also cut half a coil off of the front springs. The ride is great and the handling is wonderful. I hated the R/T set up, it felt like I was riding on a couch, and bounced way too much for my tastes.

The SRT set up is the best bang for the buck in my opinion.

    Here you go.....

It states that the SRT8 Design has a performance suspension, but doesn't say if it is the same suspension that is on the SRT8..........It has to at least be the R/T Road & Track Suspension.......

    SRT Design Group

In 2007 a special options package for non-SRT 300C's became available. The SRT Design group included badging, performance suspension, SRT 20-inch forged, polished aluminium wheels, SRT front seats, SRT body modifications (minus front lip spoiler) high speed engine controller with revised tuning for 5.7 L HEMI, raising horsepower to 350 HP, high flow air cleaner system and performance exhaust. (Similar to Charger R/T's Road and Track Performance Group) Other options were included but are year dependent.
    [edit] SRT-8

    Chrysler 300C SRT-8

Chrysler introduced the SRT-8 version of the car at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in 2004. It includes a new 370-cubic-inch, 6.1 L Hemi V8 which produces 425 hp (317 kW), Preliminary performance targets for the 300C SRT8 are 0-60 mph in the low 5-second range and quarter-mile time in the high 13-second range. However, it has been proven many times by owners that stock versions of the SRT8's have performace figures that are: 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 4.9 seconds with a 1/4 mile time of under 13 seconds.[6][7] It went on sale in February 2005 and has a sticker price of US$43,695 as of 2006 plus applicable taxes. Additional features include leather SRT-8 performance-embossed seats and 20-inch forged, polished aluminum wheels, Brembo brakes, and rear lip spoiler.
Taken form "Canadian Driver" Car Magazine.....

The SRT Design package adds the 20-inch wheels, performance tires, adaptive speed control, graphite pattern interior trim, performance exhaust, performance seats, adaptive speed control, performance steering and suspension, power-folding mirrors, side curtain airbags, supplemental side airbags and exterior trim enhancements.
