    Remote Start Question

Question for you LXers with the OEM remote start....

Does it integrate with the key or do you need to carry around an additional fob?

And if any of you have installed yourself....difficult? Easy?

    Thanks

    its a new small fob.

I have the Install and owners manuals scanned into PDF's in another thread.

    Remote Install Manual PDF

That should tell you about everything you need to know on the Mopar Remote Start.

Do you need the EVIC system to have remote start? How hard was the install? How much for the kit?

they can be integrated to work with the factory keyless system (press lock 3 times to start etc..) doing it this way you are limited by the factory transmitters range. but I have not found that to be a problem. I don't think the EVIC is needed for an aftermarket rem starter. You need the starter system and the transponder bypass.
est:$260 plus labor. I am sure you can get the parts cheaper, this is just an estimate of what you will pay for quality parts that work.
    Thanks for the Avatar, Hazman

I have an after market remote start. It was either $249 or $299, I think, installed. You'll need the bypass transponder. I have a seperate fob for the remote start. I'll post a picture in my album, No problems so far and it's been almost a year. It was a Christmas present.
