    A really sad "kill"

So here's how it went down....
Earlier this evening, I'm in my work car ('92 Honda Accord EX auto wagon wih 148,000 miles) and I pulled up to the right turn entrance ramp to I-10 towards Tucson. The light is red and I pull up behind a 2006 Impala LS (3.5 V6 I assume-single exhaust). He just sits there, so I tap the horn to encourage him to go, since right turn on red is legal here. Finally he goes, but at a leisurely pace. Then I see him glance in the mirror and punch it (I think), so I did the same. I came right up behind him (but not on his tail) and backed off a little. Once we were on the freeway with clear lanes he slowed down to about 65. Since Arizona freeway speed limit is 75, I proceeded to go around him in the left lane. When I got beside him, he floored it again (I think, I mean I could hear his engine screaming) so I nailed it to the floor and guess what, I blew his doors off! So if you have a new Impala LS with 211 hp, don't mess with a 14 year old Honda 4 cylinder STATION WAGON with 140 hp. How sad. If I were him I'd be at the Chevy dealer tomorrow asking for a refund.....

I remember my '82 Accord.....it had a 1.8L engine with 98HP. That 98HP was still fast enough to beat my friends old Chevy Biscane. I have no idea what was under the hood of the Chevy though.....this was 13 years ago....

This is probably asking to be flamed, but here's my $.02 worth anyway.

Unless your state is different than the ones I'm familiar with, right turn on red is permitted not required. Unless there was a green arrow the driver was well within his rights to wait for a green light before turning. The law was enacted as a fuel conservation measure. There are few, if any, countries outside of North America where right on red is permitted without an accompanying green arrow.

That's probably true here as well but if the lane is clear there is no reason to just sit there unless you don't know any better. Out of state plates might indicate not knowing any better.
