    Radar detectors....who knows about 'em?

Im cleaning out my garage this weekend, and I happen to find 2 working radar detectors. I gave one away and kept one. The one that I kept says "Whistler 925" on the front. Seems to work, I tested it out on the way to work this morning, but since they are illegal here in VA i dont have much experience with them. Anyone know if this one is any good? Positive and Negative comments are welcomed. Thanks....

Radar detectors become obsolete pretty quickly. Old ones will give you a false sense of confidence...then you're getting pulled over with no warning from your little friend on the dash.

One reason to get and keep a Valentine1...

We went to a wedding in VA last fall and I completely forgot about VA being anal about detectors and never removed my V1. Nobody ever said anything either, and we were there for a week.

Its a Whistler. I would just toss it.
Like Zog said, they become obsolete or are simply behind the 8 ball when it comes to sensitivity and filtering out false signals.

A modern one is definitely worth having.
    Just make sure it's VG2-proof:

I've got the same one. It's paid for itself many times.

I've got an old Escort about 12 years old in my truck and it never alerts. I hate to throw it away, but I might as well; it serves no useful function.
