    After I retired I drove transporter for Indy car team based here in Columbus .Tony Kanaan was our driver as well as chris De Matta. I got to briefly meet Mr.Newman at a few of the tracks as he rode around on his scooter. He also took celebs and team people on high speed laps prior to races in the cars CART hauled to the tracks for such purposes. He will be missed for his acting and philantrophy as well as just being a nice guy.

    WOW...I met Tony Kanaan and most of the other drivers at the Indy 200 back in March 2004 at P.I.R!! We might have met and didnt even know it....trippy!!

    Acting was his job and he used his celebrity sparingly.

    A class act all he way.

    he was a great actor. he will be missed. he also has an organic food business. i believe all the proceeds go to charities. pretty great of him to give away tons of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. rip mr. newman.
