    Quick Mopar Hitch Question

What mounting hardware was supposed to come with a Mopar hitch?

6 Bolts? (All the same length?)
4 or 6 Nuts (with long tabs hanging from them?)

    Anything else?
    ------------------------------------------
    Looks like the answer is:
6 Bolts, all the same length.
3 Nuts with long tabs (there are three holes up there that are already threaded: 2 on driver's side and 1 on passenger's side)
There are some bolts that are used to rehang the exhaust hangers that come with it.

Better yet, does anyone have the mounting hardware for the hitch that they could dropship to me (UPS Express / overnight delivery) ?

I will be getting a replacement set of hardware in, but I really need to have this hitch mounted this weekend. The next chance I'll have is Friday and that's too late.

Caught between a rock and a hardspot. (None of the local dealers have a hitch in stock. Already checked.)

Yep, I'm talking about the Mopar hitch. I'll update the first post to clarify that. Thanks for the confirmation!

Which is it? 4 or 6 nuts?
Quarky: If memory serves me it is 4 nuts. I do know the mounting holes for the resos are used. Are there threaded inserts in those holes?

I did not do the install mtself, but I read the instuctions several times over.

I think it said to remove, then discard the reso bolts?

Possibly. My hitch didn't come with any instructions either. Just the hitch. The supporting vendor didn't really knock this one out of the park. It was critical that I get this hitch installed this weekend.

I swear if I ever meet old man Murphy (of Murphy's Law) I'm going to have a few choice words with him. Then I'll put a tracking beacon on his @$$ so that everyone else can find him at their leisure and kick the sh!! out of him. (Ya I'm not happy this weekend. My mom was counting on me to haul a trailer for her real soon and I won't have a chance to install the Hitch until the day of the move.)

Guess I better get my arse outside and put the wiring harness in. I'll have the tape the harness in place or something outside the car. Yay. *scowl*

If push comes to shove, if you're short a nut, hardware stores sell the good stuff... you can get grade 8 bolts there too.

I don't know if I still have the instuctions, but if you think it would help, I can try to dig them up and fax/email them to you when I get home from work @ about 4:00 PM.

I thought about the hardware store, but thought that if anything happened (hitch fell off, hurt my car, damaged the trailer) I would be held responsible because I didn't use the official nut/bolt. (even though I could buy some that are tougher than the mopar ones)

I was confused about the number of nuts and bolts. To hang the hitch itself there are 6 short bolts. There are 3 tabbed nuts. (I can see that now in the photos now that I'm looking more carefully.)

There are also some bolts that are used to rehang the exhaust hangers.

The vendor is telling me that it comes with 3 nuts.

I looked at my car and I have the dual exhaust. I see 2 bolts there (like I expected) and I should receive 4 bolts and 4 nuts for those 4 bolts right?

    I'm getting the runaround here.
The bolts that holds the reso mount bracket is used as one of the mounting points. The rear 1 I think.

Remove 1 of the bolts and try to thread 1 of the bolts into the hole.

I can't believe they sent you the hitch W/O instuctions. Tha's really girked up. What a bunch of nidholes!

Yup. I may have rushed them a bit on shipping it because I needed it so quickly, but it would have been handy if they had checked the box to make sure it in fact had a bag of hardware (nuts/bolts)

Ya if you count the exhaust hangers there are 5 pre-threaded holes up there. There are 3 holes that need those nuts with tabs. I believe the exhaust hanger bolts themselves get replaced with a higher grade bolt too.

So there will be a grand total of at least 8 bolts and 3 nuts. There are 4 holes on each side of the hitch, so that sounds right so far. We'll see what comes in the mail. *crosses fingers for express mail to show up tomorrow with a package for me!!!* I have had USPS deliver express mail on Sundays before... it's really odd seeing the mailman pull up on a Sunday.

I coulda lived without the instructions if I had the hardware...I could have lived without any of the other parts that I ordered not coming in right away... just the Hitch was critical critical. heh Murphy rears his ugly head yet again in my life. That makes 3 times in one day (yesterday) alone.
