I cant speak for what Dodge does but when I had my Murano the 6 disk changer crapped out on me. I thought they would just order me a new one and put it in. They had to pull the unit from the car and send it in to be repaired. Like you I couldnt go without my ride for 3 days so I just used my MP3 player till they got it back. But if your asking for my 2cents, it does sound like bulls*it to me.

the only time we remove a radio before we get the replacement is when we are sending it in for repairs. even refurbished ones are shipped before they receive the old one. if they ordered you a new one (which they should have done), then they should call you in for a swap when it arrives.

money talks. unfortunately, mine usually says... "good bye!"

since you're asking, go to the service dept first thing in the am when its nice and crowded, then yell out will someone take me out to dinner....its the least you should do before you screw me! (was that politically correct?)

I don't know what DC's procedures are. I can tell you what we do with GM. I call and order an "advanced radio (or cluster) exchange". Old unit stays in the car. New unit is Fed-Ex'd in the next day. Units are swapped. Old unit is UPS'd out when swap in completed. Only time it doesn't work that way is if they don't a unit in inventory. Then we may be required to pull a unit to send in for repair. Or we have the option of going on backorder. I would think DC's procedures should be similar.
