    PopsADent review

During my move from omaha to cheynne, some wonderful punks decided to "show me" for asking them not to lean on the car by putting a fist in my rear c-pillar. So I decided to see igf I would waste my money by buying the pops-a-dent thing.

Well its not a total waste. I worked pretty good at getting the wide deep bowl shaped dent out. But first round with the 2 smaller dents, where what I am guessing at, of the knuckles hit didnt work so good. If you have seen this on TV, you will notice that the dent is bowl shaped.

Now if you are thinking of using this for door dings, I would not recommend it. The area is too small and stiff for the hotgun glue.

Speaking of the glue, the it is a bear to get off. The manual said to leave it on for 3-5 min. Did it and the glue sepeated from the tool good, but left all the glue on the car. The next time I tried it, barely left it on 30 sec and the same thing. So I thought ok just put the glue on top of the glue already there, all it did was pull off leaving the first glue still in place. Reading the pamplet that comes with the kit, "take alcohol to remove any residue". Yeah right!! Had to take a razor blade to shave most of it off and then use the alcohol.

So in the end. Works good for bowl dents, glue s*cks to get off, dont work for small dent (and ones on creases). Would take atleast 2 hours for 1 dent

I would have included pics, but could not get any decent ones because of lighting and the silver color. Maybe they will turn out when I try it again this weekend.

once long ago I was in line at a club and I saw this guy using a smooth front fender as an butt cushion. I said "Hey dose that look like a couch?"
and He jumped up onto the hood and started jumping up and down on the Z28, as the hood caved in he yelled it looks like a f-n recliner now a$$ hole. I was shocked, stunned and amazed. but then again I saw the three giant steroid munching hard a$$es that got out of the car when it pulled up, the hood stomping mullet head did not see them until they pulled him off their car. Somewhere I still have his gold tooth in a box, it landed at my feet as they taught him how to get gum off the curb.

It was not a pretty thing to see,
    but i never looked away.

I think the pops a dent is a useful tool, and I hope to god I never have to use it. from the sound of it Semi-Hemi needs a carbon fiber piller kit to finish the repair.

bummer what happened to your car,
hope it looks great when you finish the repair.

I just had it happen to me, someone at work was trying to play a practical joke on me and hit my car to set off alarm..instead a big dent right above my passenger front quarter panel. i put my fist in it..perfect fit. Would this work well for it?

If it's heavy enough to hit your coworker over the head with it, yes.

3 punks, 4 am at a deserted rest stop, gun in the car. So it's what insurance is made for. I could hear it now "Commander we have your Sgt in custody for triple homicide" Now a 3 to 1 can be deemed as "self preservation" but not worth the jail time and hassle. I have already gone through the NE court system something simular and once is enough.

If it is bowl shaped it should come out almost perfect. I have compunded dents (dents within a dent) and probably wont come out perfect. But im hoping that I can get it close and let the pro finish it off. Hmm 65 degrees outside, time to go for round #2.

Here is the results of the first round of dent pulling and the starting place for today.

    Pulling stem attached with glue

Pull brace attached (to another area)

Glue left over, sure dont act like it does on TV hahah

And the end result of pull session #2. The problem is that the dents are so small (dime sized) that the pulling stem is too big to get any power on the center of the dent. But it did pull abit. The one on the left by the crease, I cant get the brace to fit securely and kept trying to roll over the edge.

Professional dent puller can get both of those out, no problem. You'll never know they were there.

Thats what I was shooting for. I orginally took it to a dentless shop with the original damage and I was quoted "around" $250. A job with fix, paint and blend is $500. The original dent was almost 1/2" deep. By getting the kit and taking it to this point, I am under the $125 price. I caught the local dentless guy at the Walmart parking lot. It was a rushed estimate.

    So painted ($125 dentless cost + $20 kit cost) = $145 vs $500 = $355 savings

    original dentless $250 - $125 = $125 + $20 now cost $145 - $250 = $105 saved.

The only drawback is that I have 2 scratches to the primer/metal im guessing from a ring of the original hit.

Now all I have to do is setup an appt with the dentless. Anyone got $125 I can borrow hahaha.
