    LX Performance Torque Converter - Donor Hemi car needed

    Guys...quick background to clear some questions then on to the meat.
    A friends brother (Tony) was a dodge mechanic and went out on his own recently after dealership closed. He drag races and deals with a company in a near by state that all they manufacture is high performance converters. I went to see Tony about doing my Srt8 suspension swap and we got to talking and he told me about the converter. He told me they were trying to get a donor car from a dealership to test the converter...SO, I invited him with the car to the Englishtown get-together Sponsored by HHP to run the car. Well the deal fell through and they are looking to get donor car to test the converter in.

    The MEAT...the TC is a full locking converter that will fit the 5.7 and 6.1 Hemi and will NOT throw any codes. They are looking for someone that has run their car already and has some baseline numbers, but any donor will do. This individual will receive something obviously...what I do not know yet...maybe the converter.

    I am not allowed to disclose the name of the company...in fact I do not know it as of yet.

    If anyone going to the Nov 18 meet is interested please PM me. Time is critical if we plan on seeing this TC run in November. I know it will be cold and times will be better....the benefit over stock will have to be measured sometime in the spring and summer as well.

    My only concern would be if they'd pay to swap it back out if it didn't perform as hoped and if they'd cover any damage, however unlikely, should something go wrong...

    That and being closer to me, and loaning me something fast to drive while mine was apart!

    So I guess I'm not in for this... But I am really interested in the results!

    Jaak...I believe (i'll confirm) that they will do all of the work to swap in and out. right now they have only made one TC. I would expect them to cover any damage as well....hoewever unlikely. They are very confident in these tranny's and Tony told me that they are very strong.

    I've received pm's from people...I would request those that are interested keep info confidential until the date or at the request of the TC builder.

    Hopefully this becomes an affordable mod for all...we'll see.

    What would a performance TC do for a car? Is this something that could add HP or torque? I'm ignorant to this type of stuff; I figured that a torque converter was pretty much the same across the board. Also, what is stall speed? All I can think of is stall speed for aircraft... Someone, educate me please!
