    Question Passenger Airbag On/Off?

Besides using the airbag deactivation kit from Dodge, which is perminent, can it be toggled on/off? My wife car pools a few kids to school from time to time, and this would be a great option to have when she has a child in the front seat. Has anyone done this?

Does the airbag engage and disengage by weight of the passenger? If so, what is the weight?

What is a 3 stage airbag? 15 lbs seems very light... most laws state you can't sit in the front if you less than 40 lbs.

It's off, part-strength, or full-strength. I thought the cutoffs were 40 and 75 lbs, but I could be way wrong on that, haven't paid attention since I bought the first Magnum.

    i think it is
    off if less than 15lbs.
off, but with warning light if less than 40lbs
on, but with less pressure if weight is between 40 and ?
on with full force if weight is over ?

i don't remember the exact weights that bring on the different stages.
also, these numbers may not be exact because they have to be calibrated with seat weight and a starscan tool. if you want the passenger seat airbag off all the time, just unplug the OCM seat sensor. but, if you want to turn it back on, it will require the dealer to recalibrate it.
