Park lock cable removal?

As some of you might know my "pink thingy" broke and the car is stuck in park. I have the BT replacement piece right here and ready to install. My question is:

How do you remove the park lock out cable? Do you just tug it hard or what? I tried a few things and they seem to not be working so well. lol.

are you talking about taking it off of the pink thingy? Just snaps off. maybe push it forward and up a bit

Yea off the pink thingy. So it just snaps off? Is that also how you put it back on? Do I have to hold the brake or anything? Does the ebrake on/off matter at all?

been a while since I did it but I dont think you do, just comes right off, then snaps back on. Youll see that hte cable goes back under the dash a bit into a black plastic housing that kinda locks or snaps into a dash piece there. But there should be some play to it, try it with the key in and the car in N, I think that makes it loose tension but i could be wrong. Is it that you cant get it off the pink thingy or that the cable is too tight to manipulate it

Lift the cable housing (the drivers side one) out of the holder, and slack the cable a little, then push the cable BACK toward the rear of the car 1/4" (at the pink thing), then lift up and out.

Turn the key to run to give the cable slack remove cable from the channel.turn key back off,push small tab on back of cable towards the front of the shifter to remove it by pulling up.
