    LX Paddle Shifting

How do ya'll use your paddle shifter? Do you keep your foot in it while you shift or do you lift during shifts like it was a manual tranny?

I've been toying around with both methods and found that lifting seems to shift quicker to the next gear ... although it does make for a jerky ride. If I keep my foot in it during shifts it seems to take its sweet-ol'-time to shift to the next gear. I do not have SC yet.

Well most of the time, foot in it and shift. But I do like to play around with making her sound like a man, trans. Some gas, hit the shifter, lift off the throttle and then gas it again after the shift. Takes some pratice, but it's kinda fun after you get it down. BTW no jerky this way as well.

I treat it like a manual, because I will never stop hating DCX for not offering one.

No Jerky, Man C'mon, we gotta have jerky!!

One comment, the paddle shift is SO much nicer with the SC Flaspaq, nice and crisp, NO hesitation. I set mine to paddle kick in case I am paying more attention to merging lanes than the tach.

What do you mean by paddle kick? You mean it upshifts for you at redline?

I don't have SC. If I put mine in "1", it will shift for me to 2 at redline. I assume that's normal?

    Yep, that's what I mean.
I use the stock shift points on my program.
Paddle hold just boggs you out at redline if you do not shift it, kinda useless IMHO.

Cute photo of the ids BTW!!
got a photo of the boat, a 1956 Crestliner, cool!!!

So, for quickest acceleration, you would put it into 1st, then tap it to 2nd right before it would do it by itself?
