    Oil Pressure?

I bought a autometer oil presure gauge and it has an oil pressure sender, but I was wonder if any one new where I could find the wire that goes to the evic and gives the information instead of hooking that up, or if someone has already done this mod if they can give som info on how they did it. thanks

The evic display is driven by a module called CCN. The communication is sent across the Can-Bus so there aren't any specific wires just for oil pressure.

for 2.7L & 3.5L, the PCM use an oil pressure switch to determine if oil pressure is above/below a certain threshold. this switch simply grounds the signal wire from PCM.

the 5.7L & 6.1L use an oil pressure sensor to monitor oil pressure. the oil pressure signal wire is at connector C1 pin 20 (violet/gray wire) of PCM. this is a 0-5V circuit.

Hmmmm .... I have EVICS and under "System" I have oil pressure and oil temperature as displays. Interesting to watch the op change with acceleration. And the icons are sorta cool as well.

So can he sort of 't-tap' a pressure fitting in there to run his sensor?

THAT is some thing that the Mighty FNKYCHKN can answer. I amnot sure about how that would affect the EVIC/ECU setup and whether or not it would be a useful signal to the oil gauge..

From past experience, you are going to have to plumb-in a sending unit applicable to the gauge you are installing. They are not fully universal. I like the VDO senders, because you can get "dual" senders that trigger the gauge and the "idiot" light. It saves a tee fitting in some installs.
