Look at a Fumoto drain valve, it might be called the quick drain valve now. They're easier to use than the stock plug & just open to drain the oil, you don't have to remove anything.

    This is the company's website.

I didn't have the right tool for the right job! I broke the cardinal rule in any auto shop!!! Thanks for the site! The guys and I were talk about this today. I needed to borrow a 13mm six point wrench after stripping the plug!

    Cool

Part # 6507741AA. $4.30 list, dealer is free to set price, may be lower. 12 point wrench is a no-no, especially if the drain plug was tighten last by a goob that thinks you should be able to do chin ups off of the wrench.

I rec'd two Fumoto's in the mail today. One for my LX and one for my F250 PowerStroke. They are manufactured with quality and I anticipate years of convenient use.

    go with the nipple
you can put a length of tubing on the nipple which will help direct the oil into your catchcan. Ideal if you change your own oil.

Go with the nipple one, easier to drain - less mess.
