OEM NAV system

The car I am looking at buying is an 05 R/T, it has the Boston Accoustic stereo but no NAV system. Can an OEM NAV system be installed, does it just plug in or are there other components that are required? I know I will need a new bezel. I have also seen a unit from an 08 jeep for sale, would it work? Last question ...I promise ... Do these units have regular AM/FM radios as well as the serius built in?

2005-2007 REC nav unit is plug and play any Nav unit from any Chrysler car that is an REC


2008 Model Nav unit is an RER as I recall (mygig) and will NOT work as the Canbus system (data network in the car) is different and the connectors are different..

any REC nav unit is plug and play, you need the unit, the NAV antenna, and the dash bezel..

AM/FM and 6 CD changer built in however the Sirrius is an attachment, you need the sirrius antenna, module (brain) and wiring..


all can be had here or on ebay from $650 - $1000 depending on age, condidtion and seller..

I have a factory navigation unit out of a 2005 with only 2k mile (my car) I guarantee it works perfect if you are interested. I put an aftermarket deck in the car so its just sitting in my office collecting dust. I'll put it on eBay one of these days.

Let me know what you want out of it. I should actually take possession of the car first though!! We are hovering around a deal but the seller just won't commit until he has his new car deal totally sorted out, the wait is driving me crazy!!

PM me when you have the car. Its not something i have to sell "tomorrow", i've had it sitting in my house so its not going any where. Car only had 2k miles when it was taken out, so its virtually brand new. Let me know, no rush.

My wife has the Verizon LG Voyager phone with the Navigation service, that thing rocks! Take it anywhere, either car, on vacation, in a friends car, etc. I had a aftermarket NAV (AVIC-D3) in my previous car and the phone is much better. Yeah, it costs some extra $ a month, but I think it's worth it!
