Just bought the car and someone didn't hear the squeeking like crazy coming from the front brakes. Took a peek at them and they definitely need replacing. Been looking at old threads and it seems OEM is the way to go. Where is the cheapest place to find a set of front ceramic pads?
Thanks in advance!
Who ever is having a sale or you have a coupon for: Rock Auto, NAPA, Autozone, Advance auto.
Found autozone to be the cheapest. But if you have a parts store you like to use I found the difference in price is twenty bucks. I think I paid about $60.
60 bucks feels about right. I searched around online...are the OEM brakes branded OEM or a certain brand?
Get the posi-quiet pads. It's the only aftermarket pad that I have found that has the same stopping material footprint as the OE. All the others cheap out.

Hell no, get those Bendix ones. They say they are the brembos but unbranded. I love mine and to tell you the truth, I think they do better on my srt superbee.

What kind of car? If an R/T, another vote for the duralast gold here from Autozone. $59 and lifetime warranty. When they wear out, get free replacements. They stop great, and generate no dust.
If you can solve your problem, then what is the need of worrying? If you cannot solve it, then what is the use of worrying?
Why would you want less pad surface area? All the parts store brands have a much smaller pad matl surface area. The posi-quiet are the only ones that I have found that are an exact match for the OE pad. Especially when running ceramic you want as much area as possible.

The Bendix ones are exact brembo pads, just remarketed and about a quarter of the price. They are the same as brembo pads. That's why.
Are we talking SRT?

I had to go look at his profile since he didn't ever say, but Flow Ting has a Magnum R/T.
Yes he is (talking about an SRT). The Bendix pads aren't *exactly* like SRT stock but they are very close to the same compound and way cheaper. Probably your best buy if you want stopping power and are willing to live with the dust (which is mandatory if you want to aggressively stop the car).
To the OP: Price pads at rockauto.com. I'll bet you get the best deal on the best pads there. Especially if you have an RT.

Ok, well that makes sense as I was talking RT pads. The only brand that I found for the RT that is ceramic (which was OE load) that has the same braking material footprint as OE is the Posi-Quiets that I got from Rock Auto. On the OE Mopar pad the material stops just shy of the edge of the backing plate. On the parts store brands the material stops 3/16 - 1/8 from the edge of the backing plate all the way around. It does not sound like much but when you put the two side by side together it is a noticeable loss of surface area.

Thanks for all the input guys. Stopped by AutoZone on my way home and picked up a pair of Duralast Gold pads. Going to get them installed during my next free weekend. Keep you posted on the results!
Getting ready to do pads on my rt what's the general consensus in hawk pads?
