New to predator need some help...

I know i know use the search thing blah blah. I just took it out of the package from buying it from a forum member. I need to go walmart tonite to see if i can get a USB cable but before i do that i need to download the new upload for it in order for it to work on my car according to the predator when i tried to plug it in. when and downloaded the newest version put up from diablo sport but when i go to open it my PC tells me it cant find a program to open up the file? Now what do i do in order to get it from the PC to the predator in order to actually start using it on my car. thanks

You need an AC adaptor and the USB-Serial cable. You also need to download the DS downloader software that will allow you to transfer the updated CRom to the predator. The DS downloader will allow you to do the DCX calibration, which will effectively "flash" your ECM to the newer flash before you can install a tune.
This can be a little daunting and if you have Vista-a big pain. There are drivers to download from the diablo website to get things connecting. You also may have to go into options in the Predator and change baud rate to 115000 and then exit back out for the PC and Predator to talk. Took me like an hour to get it to work my first time.

Did you get the downloader program from the Diablo site?You need that program to work with the predator.Also you need the drivers!It is best to use Windows XP too.Try this write up which is self explanatory;http://www.case-enterprises.com/xery...t_predator.htm

Ok cool thank you! i downloaded the ds installer and all. Now i just need to get the cord to plug it from the computer to the predator. do they have them at walmart? it came with a disk that is small and says driver finest quality computer products but i cant hook it to the computer yet so im kinda out of luck for now till i get the cord.

Get the cords at Radio Shack. From Diablo forum response:

1: Serial Cable:
Standard straight-through DB9 (9-pin to 9-pin) RS232C serial cable (6 foot cable is more than enough). Check your computer to see if you have a male or a female port on the back, as some are different. You will need a male end to go into your Predator.
(Radio Shack Part # 26-117, 6-ft DB9 male to DB9 female shielded cable.)
If you do not have a serial port on your PC you can use a USB to serial adapter. Be sure to install the driver that comes with the cable so your PC can recognize the cable.

2: Power Adapter:
CLASS 2 TRANSFORMER
OUTPUT : 12VDC 1000mA (1 Amp)(Radio Shack Part # 273-1776)
Note: Plug Tip is 2.5mm x 5.5mm, female, and center is positive.(Radio Shack Part # 273-1717)

Radio Shack normally carries both of these items. Most Wal-Marts have the Power Adapter (multi output version).

Came with the power adapter but just nothing to go from computer to predator.

If you have problems with the Vista driver as I did, try this Prolific driver. It's what worked for me.

well i went a bought the cord to go from the predator to the computer. I open the ds downloader program to update my predator and all it does is say searching for a diablosport tool and wont do anything else...

You have the AC adapter plugged into the Predator? And usb cable from Predator to computer? If so, sounds like you need to install a driver for the USB cable.

this is becoming very difficult and frustrating im almost regretting buying this thing. the computer keeps going to not responding while its in the middle of doing something.

Ok so got it working installed 91 cai tune increased shift firmness and reset the tcm. I just took it for a ride down the high way now when i get to the top of a gear in drive not autostick at the max rpm of the gear which is 6k it goes into limp mode it feels like and wont shift till i let off the gas. Im confused. Does the same kind of thing in autostick too
