    Negative density altitude factors.

Can anyone post a link where I can get negative density altitude factors?

I have one for positive factors but not for negative.

I guess I'm not the only one that can't find this.

I am trying to defend someone on another forum that posted some fantastic times when the Density Altitude was way negative. He ended up getting beat up pretty bad over it. I wanted to compare his nagative DA times to my 2400' DA times because I think his times are very plausable given the ideal conditions he was running at.

There was a thread here with formulas and ton of discussion and then a formula correction for conditions that are below sea level... I'll do a search and see if I can find it... you might want to do one too, in case I miss it

Whew, try this thread... unless you are a MAth Major though it might be easier to just PM RandomAccess with the conditions

I know the density altitude for both runs.

    Him -1600' 13.1 @ 106 MPH compared to me +2400' 13.9 @ 103 MPH

While nobody flamed me for the times I posted, this poor guy got beat up by some SRT bullies over on the Charger forums. Both of our cars are basicly the same, Stock Daytonas with Superchips and a lower temp tstat. He had slicks, I was on OEM tires.

Given 4000' difference in D.A. I think his times are very plausable since he had slicks. .8 diference in time, 3 MPH diference in top speed. He was accused of "spraying" by an SRT guy that runs times slower than what he posted.

Slicks wouldn't help at our local track... can't spin the tires with my SRT there!

Maybe so but a 4000' density altitude should make quite a difference.

I am just trying to prove or disprove plausability here.

If I could find the tables with negative Density Altitude factors I could correct that run to sea level and compare to my run corrected to sea level. We are talking about 7-8 tenths of a second. Would 4000" difference in D.A. make that plausable? My times corrected to sea level are in the mid 13.5 range or 4/10ths better. Would an aditional 1600' difference make a 3/10ths difference? that would be within less than 1/10 of a second. Is that plausable?

This is not a personal axe I have to grind, I just would like to know if this guy deserved to be flamed the way he was. His times do not seem that far fetched to me considering the conditions.

If you put your 13.8 pass in and use 4000' DA it comes back with a 13.18 at sea level.I think thats the difference you were looking for,and it's still a 4000' swing.

Yep that's the way I figured it, but I am looking for something that I can cite as in some official web site. The guy turned 13.17 @ 106 MP and the SRT guys are flaming him. They won t shut up until something in black and white such as a link to a D.A table with negative factors is posted.

He was pretty much running the same set-up as I ran @ Napierville with the addition of slicks. He said the temperatures where in the 40s and other people that were @ the track quoted D.A. of -1600'. His times seem perfectly plausable when compared to mine. The run was made back in the early spring @ Cecil Co. Dragstrip in Maryland.

I mean no offense to any SRT owners, but I think that the guy with the SRT was sore because he had 13.2 @ 106 MPH as his best E.T. listed in his signature.

all the guys needs is a timeslip from the track to verify his run. if that doesn't quiet the SRT guys, a mathematical formula isn't going to help quiet them either.

-1600' talk about a free supercharger from mother nature.

65 - The problem is they think he is spraying the car.

I mentioned in that thread about with the air he had and the mods w/ the short tires made the differnace for him but they were kinda lead by a guy that hates Daytona 777
