    Name that leak...PLEASE!

I've got a weird one. Posted a couple of weeks ago that my dealer replaced my tranny O-Rings when they did an oil change because I told them I found a few silver dollar sized spots on my freshly paved driveway.

So txjeff comes by yesterday around 4pm so we can hit a gin mill and have a few cold ones with friends. We go to get in my Mag and there's a puddle under the left front tire. Same color as the smaller spots which is to say "virtually clear" but greasy feeling.

It is not oil or tranny fluid and the power steering and brake reservoirs are full.

It "appears" to be coolant, I have more than a 50-50 mix of anti-freeze vs water in the system, probably more like 75% anti-freeze.

We droce straight to the dealer who took it straight in, they said the coolant was a bit low and topped it off but since it was near closing time they asked me to bring it back so they could pull caps and coves off and maybe run a pressure test.

Just wondering if anyone else has seen something like this???

Close fnky and thx for the reply. Actually the winner was a loose radiator hose clamp of all things. As soon as pressure was applied to the system it blew coolant out right around one of the hoses. Reseat hose, tighten all clamps, top off coolant and out the door in less than an hour for no charge.

the OE constant tension clamps can't be tightened. do you have worm gear clamps?

That's exactly what mine did on the lower radiator hose. I replaced the clamp with an aftermarket one. Solved the problem. As soon as i did that though around 2 days later my t-stat gasket started leaking. Guess when i fixed the hose, there was too much pressure for the t-stat gasket. Not saying it will happen to you, but keep an eye on it for a week or so. My gasket only leaked when car was cold and had been sitting for hours. Solved the leak by flipping the gasket around to the other side. I didn't want to pay 30 bucks for a new gasket since they are packaged only with a t-stat. Good luck.
