My magnum is at Pro-Fab chassis in Whitehouse N.J. getting a rollbar!

Well it's finally time to get the rollbar in the maggie before I'm banned from all the places I race at! lol Today I took it to Pro-Fab chassis located in Whitehouse station N.J. inside of this unassuming steel fab work building,

    www.profabchassis.com

The owners Billy Garofalo and Joe Lavecchia whom I met when I was a 15yr old. kid hanging around speed shops have been in the Jersey race scene forever, Formerly owning Competition Performance racing engines in Union N.J. They have long time affiliation's with E-town, Atco and also Island dragway. Here is a couple of pic's from inside the impressive shop,

    Their new 2,000hp chassis dyno,

A Falcon their doing a full race job on,

Shop also has a 10 ton overhead crane I forgot to take a pic of but I did get a couple pics of Billy's 70' Chevelle SS ls6 we used to idolize as kids,

The chevelle has been in this state of mod since like 1973 making it one of the very first, If not the first pro-street car ever done. It has a custom Edlebrock tunnel ram on the worked over 454 that was cut down to fit under the stock cowl induction hood...Topped by two hollys.

The Mopar street racer guy's I knew back then alway's wanted to get a race with it and used to refer to Billy and the car as "Big tire's"

Hopefully I will have the Magnum back within 2 weeks or there about and will post some pics of the rollbar!

Thanks! And damm I left out all the details, It will be a 6pt. chromemoly bar with 2 removable swing outs, Painted probably basic black unless they come up with a awesome deal on a fancier coating job and the back seat and most of the cargo area is to be still usable...I impressed that point upon them...repeatedly.

Quick info update, Pro-Fab had called me earlier this week and the 2 swing out bars will be mild steel and the rest chromemoly. The reason is their preferred swing out and removal hardware mfg. Chassisworks makes only fittings for the mild steel tubing in 1 3/4" and as such won't fit on the thin wall 1 3/4" CM tubing.
Also some of the stuff like pass. and rear seat back I left out to be helpful they needed for proper fitting so had to get that over to them...
    Shouldn't be long now!

Yes there will be some kind of paint on it Stell, The super body color tape and spray paint job is a bit rich for me so it will be something less. The paint man said he will think of something less costly that looks good or it will be brush black for like no extra cost.

Stopped by the shop to see the progress today and took soms pics, First thing I noticed is I have two more bars then I thought I was getting,

Joe and Bill felt the mag chassis could use the bars from the hoop to the tunnel.

They also added all the safety harness attachment points on the floor and back bar,

I had been told they needed to use mild steel on the side bars but they were able to make up some bushings to use the chromemoly on the chassisworks 1 3/4" swingout fittings,

I'm very psyched how it's coming out and they said it will be done at the end of the week. On my way out I spyed this sweet Buick skylark and their gantry overhead.
