My car won't idle...any ideaz why?

Sup guys, well today I get in my car and it starts up....5 seconds later it just drops. I start it up again and same things happens...I start it up and then it idles.

So then after getting to my girlfriends job, and dropping her off some lunch(the car is parked in front)...i go and start it up again, nothing...took a total of 20 mins to get it up and going, it was very embarrasing because I there was alot of people around...and this nice ass charger wont start....

I am not a PRO...at problem solving with cars, but this is what may be going on...

-I am about 3,000 miles over my oil change, havent had the time...but I will do it today

-I check the oil, and it is severly low, not even between the 2 lines of "safe". (I asked this car guy in my hood, he says it wouldnt be my oil)

-I cleaned my airfilter on friday, but I dont think I over oiled, its my second time...could that cause the no idle tho? But I havent had any problems till today.

-My car has 38,000 miles on it, could it be my spark plugs?

Is there something I am missing or has this happened before...?

It could be the plugs.Any CELs?

no...but I do see the "oil" symbol...when the key is in, but the car is not started,

Then your oil pressure is so low the car won't run.....My god man Change the damn oil and put a fresh filter on it and hope you haven't trashed the motor.

At around 26,000 miles I had a rough idle. So I had the throttle body cleaned at the dealer. It was like night and day. Idle is now smooth as silk.

trash the motor, but I have sythetic, i thought you could go longer...i know...I know, im just so busy....and dont have the proper ramps....i am going to go buy some jacks today.

there is no oil pressure when the motor is off and the key is on.

Its not a matter of oil life J. Its the low level... if you've been running around with too little oil... well that's not gonna be good for anyone...

In the immediate short term, throw down a quart or more and see if she'll start.

She starts, it just takes a couple of tries, for her to actually stay on...it really worries me guys...she is one my priced "material" possession...

I hope nothing is broken....when my girlfriend gets home shes taking me to wal-mart so I can get some jacks because I dont have anything to keep the car up .... safely...

Thanks for everyones help I will keep everyone updated, my wifey will be here around 1830...but I never changed my own oil before, so I have know I idea how long it will take for me to change it...

Is there anything else guys?

True for a paper filter (aka Fram)... but a good cloth or composite will go a looooong time, no? (AmsOil, K&N, even Mopar)

one more thing, I have 7 quarts of oil, but 1 of them never gets used, when I take it to this shop 30 mins away...

So how much oil does she really need...exactly?
