Question MSRT Body Flex upon accelleration

    Hey guys,
Lately I've noticed when I get on the Mag pretty hard from a stop, I can feel what I'd describe as a frame/body flex. It almost feels like the car could start to lose the back end but it doesn't....Just feels squirmy!
    Anyone else ever feel this?
It's got me thinking about sway bars and a strut brace now...
    What do you guys think?
    Take care,
    Christopher

Won't sways / strut bars only help cornering?

Can't say that I've noticed anything... but then I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to describe. Are you talking about straightline thrust, or corning.

How would a brace or sways help with a straightline flex?

Mine did this - worse and worse as the tires wore. Was just tires.

I'm talking about straight line thrust. My tires are pretty new, so I don't think it's that.
I always thought that a strut bar would help with body flex, but I may be wrong. I'm sure that I'm probably losing power as the body is taking the flex/torque..A stiffer chasis would help, wouldn't it?
    Take care,
    Christopher

strut bar is only for cornering (and a waste on our cars IMHO, but nevermind that). same with sways. there shouldn't be any appreciable flex in the frame. mine doesn't have any... frankly i think it'd scare the piss out of me. are your rear springs just getting weak?

I would check the rear end cradle. Make sure everything is tight.

I don't know about strut bars but I helped my brother install Hotchkis sways on his RT. The difference was night and day. Swaybars work particularly well on heavy cars.

Depends on the ground temp when I feel it in my MSRT....Its just all the power to the rear that makes this happen...And NO, front and rear sways nore coilovers will help...I know this for a fact I have it all installed...

Is the ESP on?You could be feeling the effect of the rear calipers grbbing on and off side to side to slow the spinning wheel.

I feel the same thing in my RT.

I'm guessing it's shot shocks from the Eibach springs. I have no idea if that relates to you or not though.

That's frightening. In a straight line you shouldn't even notice if you had swaybars on the car or not. The only way you'd feel it would be if the bushings were bad and sticking. It wouldn't be a good thing :-)

Put it on a lift or take to to a dealer and check the rear suspension. Maybe something is loose (like somebody else said). Does it do it when you stop normally?

Mine SHOULD not have any problems with the shocks since she is pretty new...

I notice a "Squirlly" feeling, even with ESP off.

If you don't have an ESP mod, (maybe even with it), you are still relying on brakes to keep your Electronic Limited Slip Differential working. When you put a lot of power down, the spinning tire gets the brake applied and it hooks up, then spins the other side... etc. This makes the car "wiggle" as you accelerate. You haven't applied enough power to overpower BOTH wheels and get them spinning, but you are applying enough to get one side a little loose...
