    Mopar remote start...or something else..?

    I have a 2006 LX. I've decided that I want a remote start for the winter. Are the mopar kits reasonable or is something esle more cost effective. I don't need a facy alarm or 2 mile transmitting distance. A couple hundred feet would work just to get her going in the garage across the lot in the morning.

    I absolutely love my Mopar remote start w/ 2-way upgrade. Install wasn't bad - though I just tried to do another one for a member (without the 2-way upgrade) and couldn't get it to program the remotes.

    I have the factory remote start and it WAS great, now she just beeps twice, I hear the fuel pump prime then nothing......have you heard of that before???

    Check the manual, I forget now what 2 beeps means - I think that means a safety? Either the key-in safety or hood switch safety? Did your hood switch take a dump or come ungrounded?

    I have the mopar remote start and love it, I would recommend it
    Mods: 6.1 motor with PPP Ported Heads and 224/228 598/578 113LSA, stock tq converter, stock SRT headers with gutted cats, JBA 3in exhaust, LMI hammer design intake. The only 6.1 motor running a 2.82 rear.....Soon to be 3.06 gears.....Installs done by Afterhours Mopar Performance

    Mopar sells a 2-way upgrade for the OEM remote start. Replaces the DNS card and comes w/ a new remote and antenna. It's longer-range, and has simple backlighting/beeping on the fob to tell you the car did or didn't start, is running, and shut off after max run time reached.

    Yeah fnky I have the same deal...please pm or post it up. I had the switch done already a few times...can I bypass it?

    BB 7db,Aircharger, blinker mod, BOSS 326 275/40/20, Mobil 1, 20% tint, tit. pedals, full LED interior, LED stock tail conversion, full chrome interior, chrome mirrors/handles, color matched license/fog bezels/chin spoiler, husky mats, Billet Tech goodies, 4"X18" tips, lead foot of course!

    Was this the one you PMed me about??? I totally forgot to get back to you. If you bought the remote start kit new, there is no need to program the remotes. They come pre-programmed in the kit. You only have to program additional remotes.

    Isn't that where you open the SKREEM chip interface and clip a wire??? Did that on a PT. Don't remember which one. By the way, to others out there installing these or having a problem with these, there is a toll free # on the directions of the kit to a technical assistance line. It is a great resource, they are very knowledgable and will get you squared away within a few minutes.
