I hadn't noticed this yet.
2005 Magnum SXT AWD - Inferno Red
Mods: Diablo Predator, JBA headers, Zoomers single exhaust, K & N Aircharger, KW coilovers (variant 2's), 402 Motoring tinted tails, lots of Billet Technology stuff, real walnut dash kit, MOPAR on-dash nav, NC-SXT original honeycomb grille, Jina's Embroidery custom headrests.
I will check, I thought something like this may have happened to me. punched it and wouldnt shift till i got off the gas??
the only similar case i've seen has been an 06 SRT8 MAG that would bump the rev limiter during wot 1-2 upshift. it was repaired with a TCM flash as per TSB 18-031-05. this TSB applies only to 6.1L equipped vehicles but may be useful in diagnosis. possibly the same glitch?Originally Posted by 65standard
quote from this TSB:
Randomly during a wide open throttle condition the engine RPM goes beyond the fuel cutoff point before the 1-2 upshift is made. This causes a short hard bump at the beginningof the shift. It is more likely to occur if the vehicle is traveling around 15 MPH and then the throttle is pushed to wide open (WOT).
This condition is caused by the TCM not being able to calculate the correct engine speed at which to initiate the shift.

I am having the same issue, but I was thinking it was due to the chip I installed a bit ago.

Could not duplicate in 7 or 8 attempts. Going WOT prior to 1-2 shift (which occurs at around 15 mph when driving my normal easy) snapped my neck, going WOT after or during the shift resulted in immediate torqy pull followed by smooth but quick downshift to first and another neck snapper. Was never able to catch it in limbo or confuse it in any way.
I attribute much of that to the jetchip, which juices the tranny and thus reduces lag & slop in it. As it does the motor via timing advance and fuel changes.
this is definitely not "normal". if there is a DTC that can be diagnosed like a faulty trans speed sensor, repair should be minor. however, if it is a software glitch, you may have to wait for a TSB/software update. in the meantime, try to keep it off the rev limiter.Originally Posted by 65standard

That does in fact sound similar to the TSB for the SRT-8. Generally, if you were already going several miles an hour, then floored it, we would hit redline quicker than the computer could realize to shift, and we bumped into the rev limiter. The cars would still shift though, it was just VERY rough after bumping into the limiter. The TSB fixed the issue, but some members complained that the fix just caused the car to shift several hundred RPM lower to avoid the rev limiter.
Although similar, I'd be surprised if your issue is the same as the SRT-8 TSB fnkychkn mentioned.
Oh that oughta' really impress the ricer you were about teach a lesson!Originally Posted by 65standard
