    Magnum 1, Hawk 0

At least I'm guessing it was a hawk, or an owl, it sure was a large bird that slammed into the side of the Magnum last night. Talk about giving a guy a heart attack.

Driving along about 65/70 (and it was dark, WTF are you doing flying around in the dark, bird! It's dangerous!) when THUD! Something hits the pass side rear door/window area. Hard! First thought is "I've been sideswiped!"

I look in the rearviews to see a puff of feathers and a large bird carcass flying (well bouncing) along the road in the other cars headlights. The next 15 minutes home was like "I've got a cracked window, or dented door, busted trim, scratched paint...or something!..." sweat, worry, groan, etc.etc.

But nothing! Not even a scratch. Couldn't even tell where it hit! Are these things built or what?!

Years ago I hit a buzzard with my RX7. It hit the top of my windshield and dented the trim. I hate to think what would have happened if it came through the windshield!

I also hit a deer with my '66 GTO. It kind of hung on my front bumper for a second trying to decide if it should come through the windshield or not. Luckily it dropped under the car. When I told my Dad the car was dented because i hit a deer, he kind of gave me that "Yea, sure you did" look. I then pulled some deer hair from the grill and showed it to him.

No more road kill for me.

Must have hit the glass. Glad there was no damage (the bird didn't fair so well).

YOU KILLED MY BREATHREN! Jeez... I love all birds of prey. Anything that can from 1 mile up, see something 1/10th its size, swoop down at over 70 mph, pull up at the last moment, pick it up with its talons, and fly off like its nothing special... Is just cool.

Glad you and your mag are ok...
