LED Cup holder Mod

Hey I just finished my newest mod. I was so into what I was doing I did not take very detailed Pics of the process. But here is what I Did take

I started with Pilot Blue LED accent Lights, They come in a pack of three for about 10.00.

I Removed the center console and drilled a hole in the back of each side enough to fit the sleeves that come with the LEDs which I glued in place with a hard resin epoxy (NOTE) I would make the holes as low as possible to the base of the cup holder to prevent the light from shining over the top and lighting the dash, (I did it too high) you want the light to be contained in the holder itself.

Make the same Holes in the sleeve so the light shines through

as you can see it fits great. Again Note I Should have mounted them Lower you'll see why at the end.

When Happy with the placment of the LEDs I spliced it into the forward Power Outlet Which is set to power only with the key in and turned to the on or start pos.

After Putting it all back together..... Well...... See for yourself

Notice the light on the dash... If I had made the holes lower it would have been Perfect. I did fix it by blacking out the top half of the LED Bulb so the light is contained. WELL Enjoy.....

Nice job,

I wouldn't believe they are hooked up to the lights dimmer, as he said he hooked them up to the switched only power.

Cool! Could these maybe be wired to the dash lights instead? There must be a wire very close to the forward power outlet that lights the HVAC - or the gear indicator?
