Just got HOME FROM EMERGENCY ROOM!!!

About 5:00 yoday I sat down with my laptop to search on the forums. All of sudden my chest starts to tighten up. Goes away, comes back for about an hour. I leave to head home, took 2 baby aspirin and 2 tums, still there. Stop for gas and now realize this is not going to go away. Drove 20 min to St. Francis in roslyn. That was one scarry ride, I was holding my chest and getting wrenching pains in chest and center of back. They finally subsided about 8:30 at the hospital with no meds. I'm37 years old, havent smoked in 3 years, drank in over 7 years and had off this week. Scarry **** man, cat scan, blood work, and ekg all came back good.
One day at a time!!

Sitting up can actually raise the blood pressure and add stress on your heart. Next time, take the ambulance ride, or let someone else drive..

It could be an ulcer, I've been there done that even spent time in the hospital doing a bunch of tests, they found out it was something in my digestive system that was causing me the pains, can't remember if it was a peptic ulcer or some other type, but it was what I was eating and the stress I was going through at the time...this was 20 years ago, and my memory isn't what it used to be, but make sure your doctor checks you out just to be sure...

Hey man I was just in st.francis last week. I had to go through heart surgery...an ablation. It sucked I know the feeling. I haven't been out of bed for like 7 days...I am not allowed to drive walk up stairs nothing

Well let me say this about that, I had something like that happen, they ran all the test even kept me overnight and ran a stress test in the morning; agian everything said I was okay. My doctor and I discussed it and decided to do a Cath Scan......I was blocked in my left coranary in 2 places 97 and 95%. a heart beat away from a heart attack. But all my test said I was okay. In the last 7 years have had stents placed in both Coranary Arteries and have been in five times, the most recent was about three weeks ago. Now before you go running to your doctor let me say this....I have a terrible family history when it comes to the heart and I smoked for 35 years (I stopped 7 years ago) also gave up caffeine. But I am not giving up the ladies or tequila. If they kill me, they kill me. I hope you are well and you did the right thing, to many people , especially men ignore the signs...they say it stress or heart burn. Best of luck!
