    This is just depressing....

    Fellow LXer's, I have yet another issue. Tonite as I am watching Motor Week on one of my favorite channels (Speedvision) I come across some disturbing news. {{{Sigh}}}

    I originally started to watch because they were highlighting the new BMW M5 which is one bad a$$ car. That segment goes off and they start talking about other cars, and me being lazy I didnt feel like turning. So I continue to watch and here comes the new '06 KIA Sedona minivan. So I yawn, stretch, and get ready to catch a quick nap before the misses gets home. Now, here comes the depressing part....

    They start talking about the engine, blah blah blah 3.8 V6 with VVT blah blah blah.....244bhp (i think to myself, HA!, i make 250 and I only have 3.5L) blah blah blah 253 ft lbs of tq (i think again, must be some kinda fluke, my car is still faster, heh) then comes the really sad part.

    Kia Sedona - 0 - 60mph - 8.3!???
    Dodge Magnum SXT - 0 - 60 - well i cant it now, but i remember it being right around there!!

    Kia Sedona - 60 - 0 - 120ft
    Dodge Magnum RT!! - 60 - 0 - 134

    Now I dont know how much that TV show might bend the truth. They didnt actually test the Kia vs Dodge, but me just making casual observations saw that a friggin minivan might be just as fast as my station wagon space ship! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT CANT BE!!!!!!!!!!! I know that i didnt buy the SXT to blow doors off of other cars, but man, are you telling me that i might have to mind my manners around the KIA SOCCERMOM-MOBILE? This just isnt fair. I would feel a lil better if Ma Mopar decided to put a HEMI in the Town and Country, and then I wouldnt have so much of a problem. {{{{{Crying hysterically now}}}}} BUT not a KIA!!

    Ok, ok, ok, - so who's gonna give me a loan so I can go out and do the lil "radiator cap mod" and get me the SRT8 or at least the R/T? COME ON PEOPLE, DIG DEEP!!!!!! lol................ j/k

    Now that I have officially realized that I was bored and had nothing else to do, AND if YOU read all this, so are YOU. I will end this now. Buh bye!!

    I must admit.. i got sucked into your post and read it all.

    But, you must compare torque curves, weight and gearing to come up with ballpark performance numbers :D The fact that it stops that quick depresses me because it either meets or beats my R/T in the braking department...

    haha, i knew i'd get someone!! victory is mine!!!!!

    yeah i hear you on the latter part of your post, but from past experiences, i have heard these show exaggerates (sp) the hell outta some cars. so who knows??? i know im not going to go out and get a K.I.A just to find out, and we still have waaaaaayyy better looking cars. so what the KIA can stop faster, who uses that left peddle anyway?? lol

    Listen to the Wisdom of the Chosen:
    From the Book of Ignitions 3 Chap, verses4-9:

    " Lo! Be not downcast when thy eye beholds another ride. Yea, even be that other ride faster, cheaper, or drink the holy juice with great miserliness, Thy ride shall remain most rad and smoove. For, remember, the soul of the machine is NOT is any single facet of its quality, but in its total nature. IF thy ride be not schweet and motorvating at it heart, then the all the mileage, all of the speed, and all of the power controls will be for naught. That vehicle that does not speak to thee in thy dreams, does not whisper to you to drive it, and nay merits a thumbs up; yea and verily that machine does sucketh and blow."

    DONT WORRY ABOUT IT, BUNKY!!!

    And the dead shall walk
