Got to take my Magnum in tomorrow to have the radiator brace replaced from that recall mailing they sent out and was wondering if anyone noticed that I had moved stuff around and installed a Jet Chip if it would void my warranty? Any ideas?

I would say that anything performance related that isn't stock on the car when you bought it is classified as a warrenty voider. Guess it all depends on how big of a turd the service department wants to be.

They cannot randomly void your warranty, the dealer in fact cannot do it themselves. The Magnuson-Moss act prevents this very thing. If the aftermarket part you installed was the direct cause of the failure of the warranted part then, they can deny claim.
Mine goes in the shop tomorrow for my horn not working. I took my chip out, just in case they need to hook to the computer. Was afraid it might give them wiggy readings, or worse, if they flash me with it on there, they could fry it.
I'd take the chip out too. No reason for them to have any reason to go looking for a fight over warranty coverage.
Take the chip out. A lot less headache and worry if you just remove it.
2005 Magnum SXT AWD - Inferno Red
Mods: Diablo Predator, JBA headers, Zoomers single exhaust, K & N Aircharger, KW coilovers (variant 2's), 402 Motoring tinted tails, lots of Billet Technology stuff, real walnut dash kit, MOPAR on-dash nav, NC-SXT original honeycomb grille, Jina's Embroidery custom headrests.
They could log that you have a chip and then when you have 65,000 miles and need engine warranty work "oops looks like you've medded your engine... NO SOUP FOR YOU"
According to Jet, the jet chip will not and can not void the warranty. This is in the product information sheet that come with the chip.
The dealership can void anything they want to void if they feel that the computer was the cause of the damage. For example my daily driver Neon had an underdrive pulley at one point in time and when it went in under warrenty for a valvespring and headgasket replacement they tried to blame the problems with the engine on the pulley. I told the service manager there was no way in hell he was going to try to pull a fast one on me by telling be that BS. So they will try anything if they feel like they can get away from doing free vehicle work.

I agree that the dealer doesn't have the power by themselves to void anything, DC has to do it as it is their warrenty. Also the dealer gets paid to do warrenty work from DC..Originally Posted by SRT8Charger07
Ok so them saying that I have voided my warrenty is a bunch of BS basically and it isn't official until DC makes the final call....Honestly I didn't know how the warrenty thing worked.Originally Posted by Husker

I don't think you're obligated for a bigger tip, but it would be expected.
If you can solve your problem, then what is the need of worrying? If you cannot solve it, then what is the use of worrying?
I had a Jeep dealership try to tell me my warranty was void because I didn't use Mopar brake pads (I had the empty box in the back while going in for a radiator issue). No lie. Brought him to the manager and the manager couldn't have cared less. Turned out to be no issue regardless. While the Magnusson Moss act does say they can't do it, they do and it'll cost you big fighting it. The one thing I've learned is that you don't count for squat even if you got money to a dealership once the car is sold. I know that if I treated customers the way I've been treated at dealerships, I'd be out of business yet we continue to let them get away with it (including myself!) I don't understand why sleazebags and the automotive industry go hand in hand.

no, but they might expect you to toss them a couple bead necklaces.Originally Posted by 7thS0N
