    interested in charger conversion

i was wondering if anyone knew some of the parts that are needed to buy for the charger conversion. i remember someone posting a thread on this but i cant seem to find it. i know charg-um has the srt version i wanted to know about the r/t parts.

i have a good deal on a fascia and hood of a charger r/t.

what else do i need? does anyone know part numbers? can i reuse some of the parts of the magnum like fog lights?

From what I remember reading, it's more complicated than just buying parts. The fenders require quite a bit of fabricating. Search for the Charge-um project phase I. I'm pretty sure it's all in there. Or just send Chargum a pm but he's on his way home from picking up his SRT8 at the moment.

You can convert to the lovely 300C front end by only changing parts to the 300C Touring edition sold in Europe.

Charg-um can do it for ya to the tune of about $10k and 2 weeks with your car. I have spoke with him and it is alot more complicated than just bolting on fenders, hood and fascia. The fenders have to be grafted to our existing ones.

Yeah it's definitely not a weekend project, nor cheap.

charger fenders are wider than magnum fenders, require a splice between 2 different fenders (need 4 for the project). Thats where it gets tricky.

Yep, the body lines in the fenders dont match up with Magnum lines. So like said, you have to modify the fenders or the doors pretty drasticly.

I like the Charger front end on the Magnum myself, only thing about doing something custom like this (goes for paintjobs also) is if you get in an accident, the replacement or repair costs. Something to consider unfortunately.

You can call your insurance company. Almost all of them have what they call riders. You can add customizing repair costs up to whatever you want for an increased premium. I used to be in the custom van painting business and thats what people did when I did those $5,000 mural jobs. I had a customized Fiero insured with State Farm for $30,000 and it only cost $200.00 more dollars a year for full coverage.
