    Question Imperial = Zil? Wth!?!?

Ok... so I am talking to DOne about what we thing are the crappiest cars ever made and I mention the ZIL, which I have seen and ridden in. An astounding example of craptasticatroial automotive flatulence! He voted for the Trabant.
So I get curious to see what is up with ZIL and google it and lo and behold I see these concept drawings for ZIL:

Now compare these to the New Imperial:

Am I cracked in the skull or do I see a sizeable similarity?
    Hmmmm....Opinion, comments?

    And the dead shall walk

Both are ... well ... UGLY (JMHO)! That back angle of the ZIL reminds me of one of the trash cans where you push the opener with your foot and the top pops up and swallows whatever you throw in. The front view of the Imp reminds me of Barney... just needs to be lavendar or purple... yuck.
Still in love with my first wife, and first car ('68 Charger)... Still have the wife!

Not really a sizable similiarity at all. They are both similiar wdith:length ratios, but the lines are drastically different. The closest similiarity is in the front bumper, but even there I see a lot of unique differences that make the new Zil stand out over the Imperial.

If you are talking general body type, dual exhaust, long front end, and an odd tall/trunk shape, then sure... generally speaking they have some similiarities.

Even more general: The setup appears to be similiar, but the execution is completely different.

Yah the Trabi has to be It. A Yugo is a ... well, a ZIL by comparison. That Trabi with the 1hp engine is probably the only one still running :-)

EDIT: My crack team of investigators (or was that: team of investigators on crack?) has uncovered the truth about the Magnum: It was a Russian design stolen by the capitalist running dogs at DCX!

I usually go with the Rev's insights but I think he's looking through beer-goggles at this one.

Just crazy enough to try! Indeed!
