I'm needing ANY and ALL help!! I'm at ropes end!!

Many of you have followed my continual saga fighting Chrysler Canada LLC on a warranty repair and replacement of my 2009 Dodge Challenger that has had repeated misfires and a complete engine shut down while in motion. Well, after serving a civil claims suit against the company to get the repair costs covered under warranty as it has been proven by 3 seperate investigators (3 seperate agencies AMVIC, CAMVAP, and my insurance adjuster) that the link to to accident was a result of a mechanical issue in the cars PCM, Chrysler has refused to even look or entertain any notion of admitting they have a problem car, 1 out of hundreds.

Well my dealership has been trained VERY well to divert any responsibility from them to Chrysler even reagrding shotty (at best) workmanship of the repairs done to my car, the front bumper was replaced and painted so badly, a 3 year old could have honestly done better with finger paints. So the dealership advised me Monday they have ordered a new bumper from Chrysler, painted it and installed in all of a day and that the car looks great and is ready to go. So I stopped by lastnight on my way home to see the work, and wow..... I was so disgusted and so angry... they lied to me and again reinstalled a broken front lip that I explicitly stated NOT to reinstall. I looked closer and they hadn't replaced the bumper, they just repainted the area where they masked off wrong, now it looks worse, and to be told via email they went out of their way to send the first bumper back to Chrysler and reorder a new one, really shows the couth these idiots have towards their customers.

If ANYONE has any higher contact in hte upper ranks of Chrysler that I can contact or have a laywer contact I would appreciate it. I have had AMVIC, CAMVAP and INSURANCE send registered letters directly to Chrysler stating their displeasure throughout this ordeal.

I am at the point where I may just make the 6 oclock news with the back end of my car sticking out the front end of their showroom.

I basically gave them an altimatum lastnight, the next call I get from the dealership better be from the dealer principal himself.

Any contact info would be greatful.

Wow this sounds horrible. I have no idea what I would do if in youre shoes, I do know however that in the US and the state of CT, the delaership is held accountable and the state will help settle the claim.

Also, insurance wise, the car is suppose to be repaired to its original state before the accident occured ( at least in the US) and until that is done the car does not move or gets moved to a different repair facility. Sounds like a big hassle you have on your hands, but it also sounds like you are completely in the right and are being treated very wrong.

see the worst part of this is that even my insurance cannot negotiate on my behalf, they denied the repair claim on the grounds of the mechanical history on th ecar and after the adjuster went over the car, deemed the damage a direct result of the cars continued unrepaired mechanical issue. My insurance opted to repair th ecar and then subrogate the claim on the grounds that Chrysler would repair the mechanical problem and confirm the fix in writing and aboslve the car of that problem with 100% certainty, well Chrysler refuses to do this so it left my insurance in a stalemate and they now refuse to insure the car. They actually have registered the car as an "mechanical laibility" which means I have to provide a clean bill of health on the car if I ever want to register and insure it.

So I now own a $32,000 garage ornament that I can never insure or register again UNTIL Chrysler comes through.

I've gone to lawyers and the cost to fight them is beyond the value of teh car and beyond what I am simply asking for. i tell ya, Chrysler sure has their dealers trained well to remove themselves as far as possible from ANY situation with customers and their products.

the only way you will get any respect is to lawyer up.
can you not also have your lawyer sue for litigation fees to make up the cost?

that or just gut the car, junk the motor and build a race car out of it

Time to call the tv stations in the area?

Do they have any of the "Eye-Team-5" kinda stuff around there?

Publicity is your last resort it sounds like.

Where's Geraldo when we need him?

This has got "bad faith" and such written all over it... but thats in the U.S. I'm guessing that malfeasance like this isn't actionable in the same way it is here. It'd be a civil suit for a hell of a lot more than the value of the car, south of the border.

Go public for sure. Try to make it up to the highest ranks like CBC in Canada and ABC and NBC in the US.

oh I've goine the TV route before, I went to Global and Cuty TV and I was told by both that they cannot pursue my issue due to contract agreements with Chrysler Canada to air their commercials.... ??? wtf has it gotten that bad that manufactures advertise on tv only to prevent negative feedback..... whatever, the dealer sisn't too happy with me right now after I saw the car again this morning, more touch ups and the car is supposed to be ready, so It's getting trailered out tomorrow to a decal shop, then I'll be towing it around the city for the next few weeks until my new vehcole arrives and then I'll sell it to the dealership...... I'm going to vent peacefully and share my experience with Chrysler and Eastside Dodge. best part is that a dealership next to Eastside has allowed me to park the trailer on their porpoerty right next to the entrance of Eastside, so that'll be a welcomed surprise come Saturday morning for the dealership hahahaha

Man, I can't believe that this has not gotten any farther for you! And people wonder why Chrysler had to file for bankruptcy and still aren't doing very well!!!

I really hope that someone comes through for you on a higher up contact and that Chrysler eventually steps up to the plate and accepts responsibility. If you were making payments on it, you should just stop making them (but it sounds like you bought it outright). It might affect your credit, but at least they would come and take back the POS...and then you could get another.

There is no reason under the sun that you should put your life or the lives of your family members in danger driving a vehicle that they should take back! You have much more patience that I would have in this situation. I hope it all works out for you!

Chris, just thinking out loud, is there a chance you can sue the dealership for letting an unsafe vehicle back on the road. I think you may be able to, check with the Alberta Department of Transportation and the Canadian Department of Transportation. The dealer has to take some responsibility on releasing a vehicle back on the road knowing it is unsafe and if they say it is safe to drive then have them put it in writting on thier letterhead, if they won't then they know it's not safe to drive the car. you need that more-so now after the repair from the unsafe car.

Dude, I'm really sorry to hear about all your evil troubles. Just to take your mind off things for a sec, where abouts in Calgary do you live? I grew up in Calgary. I used to live off Bow Trail and Sarcee Trail and then up in Coach Hill and Prominence Point. Went to UofC for 2 years too.

^ I'm in the South end, 22X and Deerfoot Tr.

yeah it's been an ordeal, but you'll have to check out my update. I sent the car back into the bodyshop again for some corrections, drove home lastnight in my new truck, and get to pick up my POS tomorrow and trailer it around for the next little bit. Although a dealer in Edmonton has taken a shining to my story and has offered a better price for my car and has a new 2010 Silver SXT with 2 more options in it landing tomorrow and will sell that car to me for the same price I bought my 09' for. So I may just trailer the car up over the weekend and get a new one to park in the garage for the winter.

    We'll see.

I never dealt with Eastside Dodge when I lived up there, always went to Tower after Varsity proved to me they were a bunch of scumb.

I had FANTASTIC luck with the Dodge Dealer in Okotoks, fantastic dealer.

I understand where you stand on this, after owning a Lemon Ford and Chevrolet, I am hard pressed to give either my business, but have had my eye on a Ford for a while now.

Here in AZ there is a member that works at a Dodge dealer, and that dealer has always treated me right, before I even knew a member from here worked there, while the dealer I bought from, I wish would experience a natural gas leak and be blown to hell.

Edit: actually, my ex-fiance bought a car from Eastside, and they screwed her over every time she went in for service... I made sure, once I found out the things they were charging her for, that she never went there again.
