    I need advice

I have volunteered to go to Afghanistan for a 365 day rotation and do not know what to do with my sled (my baby, my non living pride and joy, my metal love machine). Letting her sit for that long in storage for that long will need special preping (what would I do?), and I do not know if I could handle the anxiety of letting the wife drive her and not keep her clean like she needs. Or should I just let my love go and if it is meant to be she will come back to me (true love).
    Thank You in advance,
    Casey

Ship it to me out here in Cal, We don't get snow, and it'll stay in a nice safe garage.

2 options, first store it and do the necessary prepping for her. Or let the wife keep it, but with a list of things you expect. Finding someone to take care of her as you do, 1 in a million. You would not want to came back and something goes wrong and the wife has this against you. Meaning you could have left it with me (wife) but you decided to let someone keep instead of me and look what happen. JMHO, good luck on your decision.

    Store it.

Jack the car up, put it on jack stands.

Put a teaspoon of motor oil into each cylender (motor).

Put a trickle charger onto the battery.

Put proper amount of Sta-Bil in the gas tank, after you fill up the tank.

    That should do it.

Tell you what, I'll come pick up your baby, tenderly drive her to my house, squeeze her into the heated/cooled garage, wrap her in a nice soft car cover, after doing Bob's tips and a nice gentle handwash and wax/polish with your choice of products.

When you come back, I'll have her all shined and gassed up, waiting for you in the driveway. OR - you and the little woman could fly into ATL and drive her back yourself..

It's the least I can do for someone volunteering to ride the pointy-end of the spear...

There is nobody that I know (especially my wife) that I trust with my precious. She already knows that she is unable to meat my standards, with this "car".

This is good info, I still would like to know what to expect form taking the heads off, do I have to worry about the springs? valves? what about the oil in the top will it do what it needs to for that long? I mean realy a 365 could be alot longer or even shorter(yaright).

I totally understand not leaving it to the wife. I can't get mine to even consider parking away from the front of the grocery store. That is why my teen daughter has put on hundreds of more miles than she has.

    How about this idea....
Go trade it in to a dealer (that you trust) now for a Challenger, when you get home.

Or... bring it to TxSwimDad's Winter Sunshine camp for performance cars. Here vehicles are bathed and exercised in order to keep in top health. We are located in sunny Austin, Texas, where it doesn't snow and the sun is shining bright on this 65 degree day. Here we have smooth new toll roads to run free along with nice curves and hills to keep things spirited. Don't be selfish. Think of the health of the loved one in your life. Sign up now as boarding space is limited...

Seriously, thanks for signing up! Best wishes for a safe return.
My Duster is getting an Inertia Motorsports HEMI!

Didn't you make it to the Texas ALL MOPAR event benefiting the Tx School for the Blind?
