How to tell when you have had you LX a Year

    Sirius stops working.

I was driving to work yesterday and all of a sudden, it said no signal. No big deal. I was only a couple minutes from work.

After work still says no signal. Called tech support and they tell me something most be wrong with my antenna. :-(

I was thinking about it later and wondered if Ihad expired, even though the message was strange. I called and sure enough. Renewed the sent a signal and back in business.

The actually send a deactivation signal, that in our intergration shows as no signal. Most portable units would give a different message.

Mine went silent on the 24th. Now that we were used to listening, it's hard to do without!

I got my car last July. I know I started Sirius right away. Yet I got a renewal
letter and email, and I waited till the mid of July to renew, for Sirius to tell me I'm actually good until September!

This is just my 2cents but XM is sooooo much better then Sirius. I did have Sirius for about 6 months and noticed that most of the stations played the same 10 songs by the same 15 bands. Give XM a try before you re-subscribe to Sirius. You can get 3 free days online at xmradio.com.

I bought my car in mid Feb. The other day I got a letter thanking me for purchasing a new Dodge with Sirius radio and that my subscription ended 1 yr from "now". I wonder what the heck that means.

And, how do you do this when we have a Sirius receiver?

I am waiting for the adapter to come out. I went to install my XM system today with an FM modulator , just to find out that it is not a typical antenna input. Should have known

I have been very happy with Sirius. They have several channels that suit my normal tastes. And the NFL all the time. I love the Afternoon Blitz with Adam Shine and John Riggins.

Dont know about you but Im pulling the factory head unit and going with an Alpine system with XM built in. Or you can just an XM car unit and using the FM modulator turn your FM radio to 88.1 and there ya go.......XM.

Like Snickle, "I'm a really big fan" of Sirius. Thought it was a waste until I spent some time with it and also found out I can receive it on my home pc/laptop for free. I went out and got a wireless router and a set of cheap speakers and play it outside when I'm going to be there for a while. In my opinion, the channels I listen to have much better programming than my brief comparison to the same "genre" on XM(I'm assuming that's the music on Direct TV). I'm just afraid they(Sirius) lack the financial wherewithal to make a go of it long term. As always, it's just my opinion and I don't mean to be argumentatitve with another person who choses to favor an alternative.

I am not sure who is goign to win Sirius or XM. Sirius was very impacted by early hardware delays. Probably th ebiggest reason XM has more subscibers.

    Only time will tell.
