How many have recieved a ticket smoked out tail lights

Why do cops ticket cars with smoked out lights? Are they just bored or do they need practice filling out their little forms (tickets)? I think the one who ticketed me just wanted too check my whip out whats your opinion if you've ever recieved a ticket for this? Does this really break the law please respond to this if you are a law enforcer and give us your take Thanx..... P.S. I'm only gonna retint them as soon as I get my ticket written off..... Is this really necessary Im probly not the only one to do this either....

down here in the OC you can expect to get pulled over for them, especially if your on certain streets

Dude are you for real you must be a cop or maybe your uncle's a cop anyway the fact at hand is that smoked tail light have come out before on factory production cars (trailblazer) and some other ones but what real danger is occuring you can still see red light and i was ticketed in the day time....

I have tinted windows and am WAITING to get beat....same for my tinted tails, and I wont be on here blaming it on the cop.....YOU KNOW ITS ILLEGAL.

its just a $10 fix it ticket, just swap with someone that has them stock get ur ticket signed off, send in your $10 and put them back on... problem solved

knock on wood, i havn't been ticketed for my tinted tails (that 402 motoring did for me). rocking them for like 3 years. watch me get a ticket tomorrow...

I just got one in November, I asked my sister to find out what's the big deal with tinted tail lights. She works for the Police Department. Officer said since they're tinted it's harder for other drivers to see the the reflective part of the tail light.

My buddy's mag got pulled twice. The cop told him that you must see reflection from inside of the tails (not just black) Why would a bicycle rider take off his reflectors while he rides at night? He simply purchased stock tails off of Ebay and then replaced with the smoked tails. My tails are smoke too but only 2 coats and cops are always behind me so they must not care. (knocked on wood)

the trailblazer still has red reflectors and still looks red, albeit a little darker. the federal department of transpprtation has to approve all factory safety devices, including lights. as soon as you modify them in any way, they lose that approval and are technically illegal. you're kidding when you say you didn't know it was illegal, right?

i've had mine done for over 2 yrs. only ticket was from a smokey in WI... technically he couldn't even write it b/c I had out of state plates, but whatever. got it taken care of :-)

windows are amuch bigger deal b/c it's more of a safety concern for the leo's. but if they want, they can always getcha for the tails.
