Cool How I ripped off 65standard, shifter pics.

Well I was so impressed by what he did with the shifter. I had to do something. So last night I started this:
    http://www.msnusers.com/camsmagpics/...oto&PhotoID=14

    http://www.msnusers.com/camsmagpics/...oto&PhotoID=12
This is still a rough cut and needs to be blended and polished. The second picture is just sitting on top of the stock trim plate. This will replace the stock trim plate. I'm debating on including lettering indicators, maybe just the + and - for the shifter and then ball mill some groves lengthwise. I had a hard time deciding on a handle/ball. I thinking a nitro RC car heat sink (I'll make to match) and for the shaft, instead of welding a new one on. I'll make a exterior sleeve. What do ya think?, any suggestions?.

Looks good. If you get it to work, and could start producing a few, I would buy one.

    Thanks,
Wheelife: nothing wrong with the ball, looks good. But maybe something differrent. Besides my son was helping me last night and he liked this, we'llsee how it looks. I can change it no problem, modualr design ya know.

Power=hemi. I wish I had time to do that, but ain't gonna happen. I will provide the final measurements if a manufactures wants them.

I'm gonna try this pic thing again. This is sort of what I want for the shifter. If the pic doesn't work, I'll try later. Got to go to work.

    Cam,
For the shifter shaft I sewed up an sleeve from leather at work. it cam eout pretty nice. I posted a pic here a while back, but if you want to see it, I'll post it again tonight. It should be easy to thicken the shaft by adding some foam under the leather. I had a few ideas about thickening the shaft ...Tony's new hurst shifter rocks though!
    Take care,
    Christopher

Anyone know how hard it would be to make billet door locks with led's inside to hook up to aftermarket alarm?

Hey, when I get out of work or get a chance, I could chop the photo of the shifter onto the other picture's, if you would like me to do that just P.M. me with the pictures you would like to be chopped, that way you will have a better idea of what the different shifters would look like on the car.

I don't get it? Are you just putting that milled piece in without the Hurst assembly?

Thanks, but I'm going for that edgey machined look. I saw that post. Looked great.

Thanks, that would be cool. I don't have a pic of the shaft through. May look awful stupid with that skinny shaft.

No, I'm gonna machine a new shaft cover to slide over the existing and use a different shifter knob.
