    HEMI "TICK" Possible Solution

    Hi all.

Just copied this from a post by silentblinder9502 on the Dodge Forum.

Supposidly, this is info passed down from Daimler Chrysler Engineers.

If it's already been posted, disregard.

"On many of the HEMI engines the ticking noise is none other than the exhaust valves....The tick is caused by excessive valve stem to valve guide clearance. MOPAR has now revised the exhaust valves with fatter (29 microns) stems. The part number for the valves is 53021551AB"

Hmmm.. I wonder about the engines already in existance then. Will they warrantee future valve failures?

    And the dead shall walk

Up to 36k or 70k miles they will.

If you can solve your problem, then what is the need of worrying? If you cannot solve it, then what is the use of worrying?

Seems like they should be replaced under warrantee upon request... Or maybe I'm just hoping and dreaming

I'd pay labor if they supplied the parts :D

I can't see them making a warranty change for a small tick. Now if it led to failure, which they have not admitted, then I'd expect the repair.

If you can solve your problem, then what is the need of worrying? If you cannot solve it, then what is the use of worrying?

Excessive clearance should tick all the time. In fact, maybe even less when cold, which is when I've heard it. Perhaps I'm wrong....
