HEMI owners! Check your gas pedel!

I was at the drags here in Vegas today and on my first time pass the light went to green and I put it to the floor. The car jumped and then went to idle and here is the result. The cheesy gas pedal assembly broke and fell to the floor. It may be wise to go out and check for cracks before it fails on you... Now I have to wait until Friday for one to be dropped shipped in from LA... SUCKS!!!

You're not the first one. Problem is you get excited (and I do it too) and push it really hard, when really all you have to do it push it hard enough to get it to 100% and keep it there. Oops :-) How much is that gonna cost?

Not sure about the fixed position one but the adjustable pedal assembly ran me ~$280. I'd guess the fixed psoition one would run about half of that.

$146 plus the "overnight" fee... I would drop it off as warrenty but I need the car and it would sit at the dealership for days on a 2 minute fix...

Can you not take in the receipts and at least get your money back under warranty?
    Just a thought.

If memory serves right this is a "common" issue with drag racing folks. I think someone made a spacer tha keeps you from breaking the next one off. If you need to run it go to the nearest rc airplane hobby shop and get CA adhesive and "accelerator", follow the instructions and you WILL be able to use the pedal fairly aggressivley.

Well at least the STOP Pedal is still made out of the good stuff. The bean counter who decided a plastic GO Pedal assembly on a hemi was a good idea should be hung from a coat rack by his tighty whities.

I guess I better stop using the pedal on the right.

No way you can do that as the import guys would actually have a chance of beating you. What you need to do it remove it now, make it stronger, and go from there. Wish I would have known it was a weak link...

My other option is to get smaller, less heavy feet...

You have to do it first! I will not be the only one from Spokane walking with a limp (that's not age induced)

I wouldn't tell them you were drag racing when it happened or they probably won't cover it.
