All I've heard is there are wheel repair shops that repair this kind of thing. I've never heard of a DIY fix.

I know just how you feel. Scraped up both rims on the passenger side a few weeks ago. Went out and bought two new rims. You might want to check with your local tire store, they could more than likely tell you who's in the area that does rim repair work.

Check With Your Dealer, I Have A Guy That Comes Here Once A Week And Does Repairs On Site. Most Dealerships Do. But If That Is Chrome, It Will Have To Be Sent Off. My Guy Will Be Here Tomorrow And I Will Ask Him Who He Uses For Chrome If You Still Need To Know.

I had a few scapes myself. I used a Dremel to help smooth them out.

yeah i am looking to do this myself. lots of hard work but i dont want to pay some one for something as easy as sanding it and polishing it out. just want to know what kind of product to use to sand it or what not.

Be sure to hold off having nookie with her for atleast 2 weeks like she would do to you, that'll make sure she's more careful in the future. If I was in that situation with my wife, I'll guarantee ya it woulda been my fault somehow. LOL

Because in the mind of a female that means you care more about your precious little rims than you do about her,LOL. I guess thats what happens when we're not truthful about the real cost of say wheels and tires. My wife would think I could just get another set for only about....$50.00 whats the big deal. Now if she knew it was 10x that amount for each wheel/tire I'd just be in 10x more trouble.. still be my fault though for spending so much on something that could be scratched so easily. It's a no win situation.

Here's a place in Ohio that does both Steel & Alloy Wheel repair. I hear they do an excellent job. http://www.hubcaps-n-wheels.com/

That scrape is an easy fix. Is the lip of your rim raw aluminum or is there a clear coat on it. If it is just polished all you need to do is sand it down little by little using finer sandpaper as you go, until you get to 1000 grit wet sanding. Then just polish out with a polishing wheel attached to a hihg speed drill or grinder.

    lol
    funny how that works.
When Nan backed into my car it was because the was throwing a tantrum cuz I went to the track. I made the mistake of saying, "i'm just glad it was my car and not one of the kids." You'd a thunk I called her mom a hobbit or somthin. Shew started slammin stuff all around telling me how selfish I was. There I sat in the living room with a blank face, 2 broken magnums, a screamin wife and it was all my fault.
I gave the no nookie thang a whirl thinkin it would make her attack me sooner or later.

    funny how that works too.

    I'm still waiting.
