Having fun at a Dinner Party with my SRT8

So I was at, yawn, this really, yawn, exciting, yawn, dinner party last night at a friend of my wife's.

Well, OK, it was fine, I'm just joking, but to spice it up a little I started talking about my SRT8, just a little. So here's a room full of people more in their 50's than 40's, so I felt like a pup and figured someone's gotta like Hot Rods here.

I brought up that Santa was kind and I got my little red wagon. Of course this prompted some questions, and most people thought it was really nice looking. Everything was cool until I mentioned the engine size. WOW!

6.1 litres. The range of opinions went from "Why on earth would you need that, and I hope it burns vegetable oil!" to "Awesome, can I look at it???" The one guy I thought was the coolest and someone I could share a beer with any time, turned out to be the one that just drooled over it and thought it was incredible. (I could tell he wanted one, right away...)

It's interesting, they all shut up when I responded to the price of gasoline as an entertainment expense. I guess they're smart enough to realise that going on an crusade about fuel economy, when they too spend money needlessly on entertainment in other forms that consumes energy, was a losing path.

Some people go to movies, sports events and shows, others make them...

It was a fascinating thing to watch... I didn't see a Prius in the driveway. Too bad, that would have really made for a spicy conversation as I enquired about battery disposal and the safety of the environmental impact and process of building so many batteries, if we were all to adopt such a vehicle.

Wish I had a camera for that one guy's expression when I told him the speedometer went to 300 Km/hr. After he closed his mouth and swallowed, he said "That's silly, the car can't go that fast!" I agreed with him and said 280 would have been fine, as it likely would only make it to 270!

I was chuckling. My wife? She knows I'm a disturber, but was impressed as I was so nice and pleasant about it!

    Dinner Party . . .

. . . should we talk about how the cesspool just backed up, putting new siding on the house, or should we talk about cars . . . hmmmm?

Nice! I like telling people 'Oh, I just drive a wagon' when giving them a ride.. then we walk up to the car and I unlock it.. they just stand there and stare at me.. I just explain that technically it is a wagon.. I just didn't forgot to mention the awesome looks and the hemi.. *smirk*

    It's a good feeling.

I was getting out of my car @ the Dentist's office the other week just as the "driller" is getting out of his new Escalade. Well, doesn't Mr. Dentist walk backwards to the building, almost tripping over the curb, as he's oggling my WAGON!

Isn't it great to have the attention getter!!??
My husband took The GRL to work yesterday (an AFB) so his coworkers could oogle...he got the affect he wanted!! He said they oogled, and awwed and peeped. Even a lot of the troops that were passing by walked all around it, peeped inside and checked it out from all angles.
He came home with a big grin!!
I just smiled to myself with satisfaction!! :-)

How fast are you going, Mom? I don't want you to get another speeding ticket.

It's a definite attention getter. But don't we all love that? I know I do.

I pulled upto a stoplight a few months back and this husband, wife and daughter were in there newly purchased kia SUV whatever. They rolled down there window staring at me in my car and asked what my magnum was and if I would be intrested in trading them for a kia, i just laughed and said thanks but no thanks. Then we left both with huge grins on our faces, I swear everytime i drive this car people are just staring at me. I LOVE IT. Wouldn't have it any other way.
The mod List is getting to the point that its just to long to post. So if you wanna know whats in it, just ask?

Driving a Kia is a good way to show the world you know nothing about cars.
Ask me about my Lemon Dodge Charger. Last time in the shop was approx 41 days and it is still not fixed!
