Had some fun in the Charger!

So while on the road to San Fransisco, I decided to open up the charger and see what she could do. I stopped only due to heading into an area on the 5 I couldn't see that far ahead. The car felt like it could atleast do the 180 it shows on the speedo.

Now, I don't condone this type of behavior while driving your own car, nor any car for that matter. Doing so might and will get you and your family killed even if they are not in the car. Now that's over, here's the photo.

    Buy a SRT8?

    Hahahaha, just kidding.

Hold the two bottom, inner buttons on your steering controls and then use the up down buttons to cycle through the displays till you find it.

    On another note:
I did not even find a top speed reading on mine. I did find the digital Speedo. I also found a 0-60 timer and logged a 5.78 this morning.
go to the digital speedo and hit the odometer button a couple of times until it says top speed.

Next is diablo, paint , and prob cam/heads and mostly internal engine work.
Thinking about a supercharger but not sure yet.

will not do 180 if it was going downhill being pushed by a semi. going 0 to 140 is not the problem. going 140 to 180 is. your driving a brick, not aerodynamic car.

It's more aerodynamic than you think. My R/T has cruised at 168 mph.

Is that top speed readout only on SRTs? Only on newer cars?

'05 Mag R/T - Shaved Ram logo and bumper indentions - Eibach ProKit - JBA Shorty Headers - JBA mids - SRT-8 X-over - Magnaflow muffs - Borla pipes - Zoomers tips - DiabloSport Predator - 170 deg thermostat - Jim Turner Fan Mod - Modded SRT Airbox - Quickest Superstock 5.7L at S.E. Shindig '08 You will be missed... R.I.P. :(

I agree with aries4life over sixt5 on this one...my pretty much stock Mag RT has sustained over 150 mph on more than one occasion...it gets a wee bit tail-happy at around 140mph but then at 150 it sits back down and feels solid as a rock. Highest observed speed so far is 158 mph (EVIC readout not speedometer). I'll agree it takes more time to get from say 130 to 150 than it takes to get from 100 - 130 and that may very well be due to aerodynamics but the HP and torque in these cars will get you there if you have the room....once it reaches 150mph+ it feels so nice it's like it could run there all day. It's almost a "sweet spot" for my car, the other one is at 80-83mph where it feels like silk pajamas...
