Had a blast at Spring Fest - then I started going home

I had a blast at my very first Spring Fest. Met lots of very nice, knowledgeable people and got a sunburn!

We left early Sunday morning to try and beat the snow storm headed for Utah. Just outside of Vegas I decided I would test out the procharger. The car was performing beautifully and I found a corvette that would take the bait. From 60 to 120 he wasn't catching up and I was clearly the winner. That was until I hit 120 and the engine died:( I didn't lose power so I was able to coast off to the right side of the road safely but a wee bit upset (to say the least)).

Car wouldn't start now (no codes were displayed); waited for a tow for 2 hours. They got us to Mesquite, where I got another tow to a dodge dealership in St. George. It was pretty much worthless, the first words out of the SA's mouth was "Well your warranty is voided if this supercharger caused the damage." Blah, blah, blah. I called my tech in SLC and he recommended disconnecting the battery (didn't work), then based on a conversation with Procharger they recommended checking a couple of spark plugs. The dealer just wanted to argue with me and wouldn't commit to anything until Wednesday.

So, I rented a 14 foot uhaul and car transport and we arrived home a few hours ago. Dead tired, broke, and mad as hell. I can't believe this damn car couldn't handle a single run to 120mph without breaking down. UNBELIEVABLE!

I hope to know more after tomorrow...

I'm glad that you were able to figure out how to get home.
I'll be curious to hear what you find out. My fingers are crossed for you that it's minor!

It was really great to meet you at Spring Fest. I had a great time hanging out with you...Love the wheels,

I am really sorry to hear about the motor problems, you encountered on the way home. Hopefully it is not too bad and you can be up and running soon.

I will be speaking with Bismarck soon about USW getting started on an AWD wheel for your JeepSRT.

If you're using a boost-a-pump, check it out first. Mine took a crap on me last Monday. Car lost all fuel. Took a new BAP to get her up and running again.

I'm stuggling to find a reason to be sympathetic. Street racing, whining about losing a factory warranty after installing a supercharger and if that ain't enough - no sun block. Dude, come on...

Attitudes are contagious. Mine might kill you.

Yes, is fuse #6 in the back.. at least was on my 05 Magnum.

Does the boost-a-pump draw that much extra current? That totally makes sense if this occurred when hitting high speeds when this pump would have been running hard.. Blown fuse our failed pump makes sense...

If it was me, I would be checking the fuse and then the pump before doing anything else major..

Good luck.. Keep everyone posted, there are a great many resources here.. probably better than most dealerships as far as expert knowledge.. I am sure someone will help you figure it out..

Yep....thats why most are wired through a relay now directly off the battery with the factory fuel pump wire as the trigger.

Makes sense.. if it was something else that broke internal, it would have done more than just stop.. lol.. like eject a connecting rod through the side of the block or something..
