The wife and I were in Ottawa Saturday for a day trip, we'd left the Museum of Nature and were on our way to the War museum when we got hit at the intersection of Kent & Albert. Thankfully there were no injuries although everyone involved was shaken up.
Anyways the rental that hit us had both air bags go off and pretty much looks like a write off while we took the hit square on the r/f wheel, it looks to be mostly fender, bumper cover, steering, wheel and r/f suspension. We'll find out what else once it gets towed back to Belleville and into the body shop.

Suspension damage.

Just got it back this afternoon, I am now happy.

There are a few things I need to clean under the hood, plus I'm waiting for a new airbag sensor for the pass seat but I'm glad to be driving her again.
The rental company gave me an Avenger to drive last week, although it is a nice car it doesn't feel as solid as the mag and it doesn't let you forget it's front drive (woohoo torque steer anybody).

Yes we were just shaken but tired after the adrenaline wore off though I am still a bit shakey today.

We were lucky with the car, if you look at the second pic you can see that the force of impact was centered on the wheel meaning the strongest components took the brunt of it because the Grand Am's front end was mangled.
I wonder if the rim's bent?

I wish I did but I really didn't think about it when I grabbed my camera.

My wife thinks the door panels require more padding, maybe I'll just wrap her in bubble wrap before we head out from now on.

(She's going to beat me after reading this post.)
