    Grocery Cart Bumper Removal Issues

I tried to search through the forums to see if I could get the answer I was looking for but came up empty handed so please excuse me if my question is routine I have a 2005 Chrysler 300 in Magnesium Pearl. I have gotten sick of the way those chrome strips look on the side of the car and am about to yank them off for good. I know the old fishing line or dental floss trick for the removal of the 3M tape - but here is my question: the bumpers have been stuck to the side of my car for 4 years now. How will I ever get the paint underneath to mesh with the old(er) paint on the doors??? I have heard rubbing compound but need specifics so I dont jack my car up. Thanks All!!!

hope the paint underneath is not bubbled. a lot of the early ones were and needed to be painted.
i don't really know how to make the paint match. i'm sure someone with more knowledge in this area will chime in soon.
i can tell you that rubbing compound is pretty harsh and i'd stay away from that.
Izzy pics money talks. unfortunately, mine usually says... "good bye!"

I had mine removed at a body shop, they buffed the paint out - had no bubbles.

Car was in for other body work at the time, I was rear ended.
