Gas Gauge Issues

Has anyone had the gas gauge (and gas gauge only) just stop working? All computer features still seem to be working i.e. MPG, Distance till Empty, etc. Worked fine this morning, this afternoon - nothing. Any ideas?

You got SC 1.06, upgrade it, mine gave me problem with 1.06, ok with the 1.07, can't update anymore since I got Vista.

It's not in the computer it is in the gauge mechanism itself. You can hear a noise that sounds like plastic gears not aligning inside the dash. It sound like it is coming from straight back from the turn signal lever, or right in front of your left knee. If I hit there on the dash panel the gauge worked until I turned the car off... of course I haven't gotten it to work since.
