Thanks for posting the pics, I would have liked to make it so you couldn't see the skinny part at the bottom, but then you couldn't power shift it because it would rub...About the only thing you can do is put a small piece of shrink tubing down there to cover the shiny part...If you look at the one Hurst makes, you can see a little at the bottom too...
I know how to solve that problem....
Someone needs to design a "low rise' style shifter boot. That would be cool.
The boot would hide the transition on the shaft.
The shaft could even be fatter.
