just curious what your fastest time with MDS is. I was up to 92 with it on last night. Couldn't ever get it to 93 without it turning off.

I still can't get my foot off the gas enough to let it engage for more than a few seconds.

Factory answer, grinner, is 83 mph ("MDS operates between the speeds of 25 and 83 mph." - from some early research before buying).Originally Posted by grinner
The upper limit must be tied to power output somehow, as mine, too, engages at progressively higher speeds as I've modded her up. Assuming level ground, DA around 2000' MSL, 93 is the fastest I've gotten it to engage at, but it disengages after just a few seconds. It'll remain engaged reliably at 88 mph, whereas when unmodded the factory figure of 83 mph was very close - sometimes just 82 mph.
I have the borla 125 exhaust and you can hear it kick off and on every time

Wow is that ever way off! I can hear it nop problem with the Zoomers and I can get it to reliably kick in and stay there at over 90 mph (found that out when I was late to the last GIFO). I *think* the highest was about 95.Originally Posted by Meister
Driving south from Bakersfield to the grapevine its hard to keep it out of MDS at 90 thanks to the gentle downward slope.

And the 83 mph upper limit, as stated earlier, assumes a stock vehicle. Your modded car is making more power & thus may be laboring less at 90 mph or so than a pure stocker at around the factory's suggested 83 mph (showing less throttle percentage at any given speed, for example).
Whether it's tied to throttle position or not I can't say definitively, but MDS max engagement speed does appear to be directly linked to how hard the engine is working, other factors being equal.
It seems that TP must be less than 20% (EVIC) and engine load less than 40% (ScanGauge) to keep mine working.

you can't hear it?
I can feel it now that I can hear it so well.
I ditched fuse 17 today. I figure I have engine lights on anyway. May as well just add some illumination. I sure like the way it drives better this way. I got use to the engine light. I'll get use to the ESP, ABS and BRAKE lights.
