Extended warrantys, what did you pay??

Hey guy's I am finnaly getting my Charger unfugged, but I would like a little piece of mind while I am deployed.

    I was looking at these

    http://www.chryslerwarrantys.com/pri...uotes&#heading

I would go 7/100,000 Maximum care.

    Is this a good price??

Is there a better place to get the warranty's??

I want the Manufacturer backed warranty, I had this on my Durango and I noticed no difference after the basic warranty changed to the extended, and working in a repair shop before I have seen the nightmares a private company warranty can be.

    Any input is appreciated!!

The link isn't working for me. What price are you looking at?
I get extended warranties through my credit union, but I can't remember the name of the actual warranty company. On my 330ci I paid somewhere between $1600-2000 to get 100,000 miles bumper-to-bumper. I took it in several times under extended warranty and was very satisfied. The only thing that wasn't replaced was a seal on the driver door (normal wear item supposedly).
I haven't purchased the warranty for my SRT8 yet, but I was quoted just over $1000 several months ago from the same credit union for the same warranty.

Hmm, maybe I got a cookie that is allowing it to work for me.

    the site is www.chryslerwarrantys.com

The one I am looking at covers everything except service items,ie oil changes brakes.

    7yr/100k

It covers everything else, rental car, motels and food (if over 100 miles from home) with a 100 dollar deductable.

the price is 2365 and I have a coupon for 180 off.

You might want to look at www.chryslerservicecontracts.com. I got a qoute a couple months ago for the same plan (7yrs/100K mi with $100 deductible) for $2055. That quote was for an SRT8, the 5.7L 300Cs should be less (at least they were at my local dealership). From what I can remember, the site is part of a dealership that basically makes less on each warranty, but makes it up in volume.

Cool, they have more options, and service contracts, 15 oil changes for 215 is pretty cheap when your talking 7 quarts of mobile 1.

I will keep them in mind.

Anybody else have a good place or advice??

I want 7yr/100k 100 dollar deduct, max coverage

I got a 7year 100k warranty for just over $1k. so no, that is not a very good deal. (Then again maybe since I had an 05 Magnum instead of an 06 it didn't cost as much to get the warranty)

My warranty is not the chrysler one, but I read my warranty carefully and it covers everything as I'd expect it. The dealer I was working with on it has been very good to me on service issues and giving me loaner cars etc. Don't be afraid of other warranty providers as long as you understand carefully how it works. Some warranties require you to pay first and they reimburse you. Mine doesn't.

Yeah, I was a mechanic before I joined the army. I hated having to deal with the aftermarket warranty people. I'd rather pay a couple bucks more to avoid the hassle. The link that 1fastsedan posted I can get 7/100k, 100 deduct and 15 oil changes for 1700. I don't think thats too bad. And that covers everything, even retal cars, towing all that.

I have seen the aftermarket warranty people do some shady crap. I had a guy bring his pickup in (dodge v10) and it had broke a piston. We had to wait 2 weeks for them to come take pictures of it, another week for them to decide if they would pay. And then they wanted to only pay 20 dollars an hour for labor, only allowe 7 hours to R&R the engine, didn't pay for diagnostics(which included pulling a head) brough us a used junk yard engine(tried to bring us 1 used piston). They also would not pay for oil or anti-freeze as these were "maintence" items.

That is just one story of many that I have, but there were many different one and most were a hassle. There are some that are good, but you never know. I think the one that was the worst was Wynn's.

I usually do all my own work, but being military now and always away from home, knowing the wife can drive in and get it fixed and drive out with no hassle is a big thing to me.

Well, since the dealer tried to to a bait and switch on the factory warranty, they threw in a 5yr/75k mile extended for an obscenely low price. The car said full factory warranty, when I was preparing to sign, they had a new form filled out that said remainder (starting from date it hit the lot in 11/04) so I had basically 15 months left on the bumper to bumper and 5 on the powertrain. I went and pulled out the form from the car and they offered to give me the full coverage gold contract for nearly free.
